Big changes are happening at The Dog Social Newport 🐾✨

We’ll be closed from April 3rd to April 12th as we renovate our space, and we’ll reopen on April 13th with a fresh new look — while keeping the same love and care you already know 💛

Since taking over in September 2025, we’ve been paying close attention to how the space feels — for the dogs, the team, and our clients.

We noticed that the current layout can sometimes create unnecessary stress for the dogs, and the noise levels can make communication at reception more challenging.

So we decided to change that.

✨ Creating a calmer, more balanced environment for the dogs
✨ Improving flow and efficiency for our team
✨ Offering a better overall experience for our clients

This is a big step forward for us, and we truly can’t wait to welcome you back into a space that reflects the level of care we aim to deliver every day.

After 17 years and 9 months, as of today, Kristin is no longer the owner of NB Pet Salon in Newport. Today we are now The Dog Social. You can find our sister salon in Manly.

I want to thank our community for all the years of support. It is our community, the pets and you, the owners, that have provided a life for me and my daughter here on the Northern Beaches.

I want to make a special thank you to each and every staff member that has worked for me through the years. I want to especially acknowledge Deanna and Aaron who will stay working in the Newport salon.

Eve Davison will be managing both salons. Eve was previously a salon owner in Newport. She has many years of experience and is already a loved member of the community. I want to welcome Eve back to Newport.

I am so confident in this decision. I know my beloved clients will be looked after for many more years to come.

To say I am proud of what I have created is an understatement. It has been a dream of mine to have a salon and build a business. I will continue to work on Saturdays in the salon so I am not going away completely. Please know, I am still part of the team and you are all still very important to me.

I now have other interests I am pursuing for my future. I'm working now in property law which I find very mentally stimulating and exciting.

I started grooming dogs when I was 20. Unfortunately, I can't groom another 20 plus years at the pace I've gone for so long. I am sure you will all understand.

Thank you again for all the years of joy with your beloved pets and family members. I am so grateful to have been a part of your families lives.
