Hi friends, just a little flock update! 🐔

As our beloved hens grow older, a few have officially entered retirement. Several of our girls have reached the four-year mark, which is when reproductive challenges often begin. Over the past few months, we've seen some vitamin deficiencies, lots of soft eggs, and minor illnesses, so after careful consideration, we've decided to put Solo, Chewie, and Zosia on chicken birth control. Their comfort and long-term health matter more to us than pushing their bodies beyond what’s sustainable.

With only three hens still laying, we won’t have enough eggs to continue regular sales. We'll be gradually winding things down over the coming weeks and months.

To our amazing regulars: thank you for your support and enthusiasm. We’ll still do our best to offer occasional dozens when we can, and we’re so grateful to have shared this journey with you.

Our week just keeps getting worse.

Today we unexpectedly lost our beautiful velociraptor hen Henrietta after a short illness. Being a bit of an older hen, she was more prone to later in life illnesses common in hens, but we didn't think she'd be gone this soon. Hens are known to hide their illnesses until it's too late. She's always been such a healthy, hardy hen who has never had an illness since she was a baby.

We are beyond devestated and feeling extremely numb today. Please pray for the rest of our flock.

We had to say the hardest goodbye to our gorgeous girl Amelia today.

Unfortunately she had a growth in her abdomen which medication could not tackle. She eventually could not digest food and stopped eating completely.

We tried as much as we could but it was more heartbreaking watching her decline so rapidly.

We love you so much our gorgeous girl. Enjoy all the mealworms in heaven with Mabel, Betty and Martha.

Hi Community! Just a quick announcement to say our egg sales are closed until spring. Our girls have had a great season but now it's time for their annual moults and bludging over winter. Thanks again for everyone's support this year! ❤️🐔

Hello followers! Just wanted to reach out and let those who are waiting for eggs know that we are running a bit slow! We only have a few hens laying at the moment due to seasonal changes and moulting season. In the next few weeks unfortunately we will likely stop selling until springtime but I'm sure we will be able to fulfil our orders for the next couple of weeks. Thanks for being patient!

To say we are proud is an understatement!

Our egg laying superstars came away with 1st place in the dozen Brown eggs category and 1st place in 1/2 dozen of any other variety category at the Maitland Show. To top it off, our precious Solo won Champion eggs, best eggs in show. I was a big ball of tears when I saw the big ribbon. 🥹🐔🥚

Our beautiful bees also won 2nd place in the Native honey category. 🐝🍯
