🐝 Wasps and Dogs – What You Need to Know! 🐾
Curious noses and wagging tails can sometimes get a little too close to wasps! While most stings cause only mild pain and swelling, some dogs can have more serious allergic reactions.
⚠️ Watch for these signs after a sting:
• Swelling around the face or muzzle
• Whimpering, pawing, or sudden licking at one spot
• Hives or redness on the skin
• Vomiting, drooling, or difficulty breathing (this is an emergency!)
🐾 If your dog is stung:
• Gently remove the stinger if visible
• Apply a cool compress to the area
• Monitor closely and contact your vet if swelling worsens or your dog seems unwell
Wasps are most active during warmer months, so keep an eye on your dog when they’re exploring the garden or park.
