🚨 TICK SEASON WARNING 🚨
Warmer weather means tick season is here, and we're already seeing cases coming through the clinic. Paralysis ticks are extremely dangerous and can be fatal if not treated quickly.
🕷️ Check your pets daily – especially if you live near bushland or have been walking your dog in grassy or coastal areas.
🔍 Signs of tick paralysis to watch for:
Weakness or wobbliness in the back legs
Change in bark or meow (voice sounds different)
Vomiting or gagging
Difficulty breathing
Collapse or sudden inability to stand
If you notice any of these signs, contact us immediately – every minute counts.
✅ Protect your pet:
Use tick preventatives regularly (ask us which ones are best for your pet)
Do thorough daily tick checks (around ears, neck, under collar, between toes, under arms)
Keep lawns and bushes trimmed around your home
Stay safe and keep your furry friends protected! 🐶
