Waymere Stud located in Narrabri, northern NSW has been in operation for over 30 years. We take pride in breeding quality Australian bred stock, suitable and successful in a variety of equine disciplines, such as, campdrafting, dressage, hacking, polo cross, led, jumping, pony club events etc. For many years Waymere Stud was the home of the versatile and well loved sire "Kirkbys Stud Wallaroo" (Qu

idong Brigadier/Elliotts Creek Cadet, dam Kirkbys Mercury). He successfully competed in all facets of ASH competition and campdrafting. Our foundation broodmares have produced superior quality progeny that you see competing today with the "W" brand. In 2019 we lost our amazing sire “Oaks Ebony” in son of the legendary Doc's Freckles Oak. His loss prompted our decision to wind back the stud and retain only a few of his progeny for us to enjoy. Waymere will still bred 1-2 a year due to still retaining our HSH stallion "Waymere Inspector" by Kirkbys Stud Officer.

Not been posting much lately but I have been battling with a bout of laminitis since Oct 2025 with my special girl, Perfect. I don’t have an equisage but have adopted the next best thing a human massage tool. It is working and she is quite happy to stand for me while I manually give her a massage pamper. ❤️

Well Chic (chestnut) all rounder pony club stock horse and her mate Molly (standardbred) have been here on agistment at Waymere for a few years now, with Jessica Freeman.
We will miss you ladies! Chic is now retiring at 25 years into a larger paddock with some other aged mares and Molly is going to be a recip mare at a QH stud. Nice outcome and well deserved. Thank you for entrusting your precious mares in our care at Waymere Stud. Meredith & Ian

FYI friends & followers.
I am so pleased to share that my PhD thesis has been reviewed and is so close to completion. I would like to express my appreciation to the two reviewers for their rigorous evaluation, thoughtful suggestions, and resoundingly positive feedback on my research aimed at improving human-horse safety. The completion of this nine-year journey has been a significant achievement for me amist work and life in general. I didnt know how old I would be when I finished, but never gave up!
My focus now shifts to exploring opportunities for implementation, engaging with industry stakeholders, and driving meaningful change in reducing the risks associated with human-horse related injuries and fatalities. Thank you to those who have already acknowledged my work in this space, thank you. 🫶X ❤️
