It doesn’t matter how many times you hear it, it always echos through you. The horses always know it’s time to stand to attention as well.

ANZAC DAY 2025 - BEACHPORT

This year we attended the Beachport dawn service. The venue and weather providing an absolutely stunning backdrop. With a Piper and a Tiger Moth flyover, Beachport provided a wonderful atmosphere, we felt privileged to be part of it.
The horses enjoyed plenty of pats from young and old after the service.

ANZAC DAY 2025 - MILLICENT

The troop, riders and nurses, joined the street parade, followed by the mid morning service, where once again the riders formed the mounted catafalque party. The horses did us proud, standing well. Not a horse moved when the RAAF aircraft did a low flypast directly overhead.
An excellent turnout for the service. Always a pleasure to attend the Millicent service, well done to everyone involved in the organisation of it.

We are very grateful for the support Tony Pasin MP has given to the troop over many years.
Any service he has attended with the troop present he has always made a point of chatting with the troop members afterwards, commending the horses on their behaviour and the effort that goes into preparing the horses and equipment.
We are very grateful for the grant he has been able to pass on to the troop to go towards uniforms and equipment to help encourage new members and keep the memory of the Light Horse alive.

Today was an extra special service for our troop members. Chris Thornton had her last service with us as one of our nurses.
Chris was one of the founding members when the troop was formed to pay tribute to the men and women who served in the Light Horse.
We are thankful for everything she has done, and pleased to know she will still be one of our members, however, not in uniform.

🌺 REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES 🌺

Remembrance Day commemorates the cessation of hostilities in the Great War on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, 1918.

A service will be held at the Naracoorte War Memorial and the Lucindale War Memorial.

Both services will begin at 10.30am.

The Lucindale service is delivered by the Lucindale RSL.
