💥💥 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 💥💥

‘Cecil’
IMP #: 109/2025
Staffy Mix, Male, Tan/White, Puppy.

This adorable troublemaker is ready to find his forever family.

Cecil is an adventurous, confident pup that’s looking for an active family to take him in. He loves just being around his people and exploring new places. Cecil loves having another dog to play with but will do fine as an only child with plenty of attention. Cecil is still a pup and will require on-going training, but don’t worry, he is very food motivated.

All existing dogs will be required to perform a meet and greet prior to adoption.

Cecil’s adoption fee is $422.50 which includes the following: pre-desex health check, desex, microchipping, C3 vaccination, worming, flea treatment and lifetime registration within New South Wales.

If you’re interested in meeting Cecil or finding out further information, please contact the shelter directly on 6549 3777.

**Pippa has been adopted!!**

💥💥 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 💥💥

‘Pippa’
IMP #: 095/2025
Kelpie/Collie Mix, Female, Black, Young Adult.

Pippa is an extremely sweet, clever girl that is ready to find her forever home.

Pip can be a little timid when meeting new people, but she quickly warms up and becomes a very friendly girl that just wants all of your attention (Belly rubs are her favourite). She is a very quick learner and is food motivated. Pippa has been fine with the other dogs and would not mind having some fur-siblings in her new home. Pippa is very energetic and loves going on adventures.

Please keep in mind that Pippa is a working breed and will require plenty of exercise. She is also a young girl that requires on-going training.

Please be aware that if there is an existing dog/s at home and you’re interested in meeting Pippa, all existing dogs will be required to perform a meet and greet prior to adoption.

Pippa’s adoption fee is $363.50 which includes the following: pre-desex health check, desex, microchipping, C3 vaccination, worming, flea treatment and lifetime registration within New South Wales.

If you’re interested in meeting Pippa or finding out further information, please contact the shelter directly on 6549 3777.

❓I HAVE FOUND A STRAY ANIMAL. WHICH COUNCIL DO I CONTACT❓

🌏 Muswellbrook Shire Council includes Muswellbrook, Denman, Baerami, Kyuga, McCullys Gap, Martindale, Muscle Creek, Sandy Hollow and Wybong.

🦮 If you find an animal too far from home, contact Council’s Customer Service Department who will happily point you in the right direction to help these lost furry friends.

🛤️ DIDNT FIND THE ANIMAL IN THE MUSWELLBROOK SHIRE DISTRICT❓

🐈 Muswellbrook Shire Council are not responsible for animal incidents outside of its own council boundaries. These will need to be referred to the council area with the appropriate jurisdiction.

🗣️ IT’S NOT UP FOR DEBATE❗️

Unfortunately, many people are unaware of the right authority to contact in regards to stray animals.

🐾 One example, came to Muswellbrook Council all the way from Gungal on Thursday 17 July. A young cat was found at Gungal. The finder decided not to contact the correct Council in the Upper Hunter Shire, but instead drove the cat across the Council boundary and to Muswellbrook.

🤦‍♀️ The finder also argued with Muswellbrook Council staff debating whether or not Gungal was part of the Muswellbrook Shire. It’s not up for debate, Gungal is part of the Upper Hunter Shire Council.

This can cause all sorts of problems for animals and the community such as:
⚫️ minimising the chance of reuniting pet and family.
⚫️ takes up space in a Facility where space is needed for that Council’s animal population.
⚫️ higher chance of euthanasia due to space demands.
⚫️ increases the spread of localised diseases and parasites, such as heartworm or hydatid tapeworm.
⚫️ unnecessary travel for both owner and finder.
⚫️ resources taken away from Council duties.
⚫️ rate payers shouldn’t be paying for a neighbouring council’s issue.

🐈‍⬛ Let’s keep our furry friends safe and secure at all times whatever Council you’re in ♥️

July is just around the corner, which means discount desexing!

Every year the shelter and other rescue groups receive countless calls about:
▪ Unwanted litters
▪ People struggling with costs of raising litters
▪ People struggling to rehome litters
▪ Pets going through health issues arising from not being desexed or breeding and other similar situations.

This can all be prevented by desexing.

Help yourself and the community by desexing your pets.

The National Desexing Network has some awesome vets working with them to offer discounts on desexing for dogs and cats in July.

You can out more information and see which vets are participating by following this link: https://ndn.org.au/ or calling 1300 368 992

Please note:
▪The Muswellbrook Animal Shelter is an impounding facility and not a vet clinic, we do not offer desexing here and any bookings must be made through the National Desexing Network with participating vets (Found using the website or number above and below)
