EquiVets Victoria are incredibly proud to present The Darren Green Memorial Award at Friends of Werribee Horse Trials, recognising the highest placed Junior Rider in the CNC2* class. Ensuring that Darren’s legacy of sportsmanship, generosity and support for young riders lives on 💙💚

Darren Green, a passionate horseman and eventing enthusiast, competed from Intro through to 3* level (now 4*), was a former Master of the Oaklands Hunt Club and a Life Member of Oaklands Pony Club. He was also instrumental in the relocation of the Avenel Horse Trials to its current home, Greenvale.

Darren was always willing to encourage and support the next generation, even lending his own horses to young riders so they could compete. His contribution to the equestrian community continues to be remembered through this award.

🏆 Our 2026 Darren Green Memorial Award winner is Baylee Eve riding Beltana Finley. Huge congratulations Baylee!

Our exceptional reproduction veterinarian, Dr Giulia brings a wealth of international experience and a passion for all things reproduction. Having worked in multiple countries throughout her career, she has extensive expertise in equine breeding and reproductive medicine, making her an invaluable member of the EquiVets Victoria team.

Outside of work, a successful Rhodesian Ridgeback breeding program, Giulia also breeds eventing horses and is a passionate follower of the sport 🐴🐶✨

We're so excited to welcome Dr Natasha McLean to the EquiVets Victoria team! 🌟🥰

Hi, I’m Natasha!
I'm originally from Scotland and am excited to be joining the team in September.

For the past two years, I've been working in an ambulatory equine practice, providing veterinary care out on the road. Horses have been a huge part of my life from a young age, and I spent my teenage years competing in a variety of disciplines. That lifelong passion is what inspired me to pursue a career in equine veterinary medicine.

When I'm not at work, you'll usually find me outdoors—whether I'm out running, hiking, walking my dog, or exploring the hills. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your horses!

Meet the Team: Blair 🌟

Our super-organised farm manager who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. It's no small feat, with over 80 horses on the property, including our hospital patients and mares visiting for breeding! 💪🏽

Outside of work, Blair has been breeding Welsh Cobs for over 25 years. Her horses have enjoyed incredible success, winning at Royal Shows, DJWTS, Sydney CDI, and taking top honours at the International Shows. These days, she doesn't get much time to compete after having kids... but before that, she was competing herself at National level! 🥰☘️

🐴Do you love working with horses?

💫Minimum 25+ hours a week-full time position (flexible)
Potential to step into a Vet Nurse role
Accomodation can be discussed

Duties include
-feeding horses & daily checks
-monitoring mares & foals
-administering treatments
-assisting vets & farriers
-many aspects of breeding
-ability to work with our team and alone
-general farm maintenance

Applicants must haves
-strong horse handling expertise
-knowledge of basic horse care
-current drivers license
-physically fit

Gastroscoping Day! Tuesday 1st September 🐴🎥

Gastric ulcers are incredibly common and can have a significant impact on your horse’s health, behaviour and performance. If your horse isn’t quite themselves, it may be worth taking a closer look.

Common signs can include:
• Poor appetite or picky eating
• Weight loss or poor condition
• Changes in behaviour or temperament
• Resistance under saddle
• Poor performance
• Mild, recurrent colic
• Girthiness or sensitivity when grooming
• Crib-biting, wind sucking or teeth grinding

✨ Discounted rate for the day, including sedation.
🏡 Overnight yards and stables are available for horses needing to be fasted prior to the procedure.
