Today my heart feels heavy… but also incredibly proud.
My beautiful Hermione left today for her forever home at a retirement facility. Saying goodbye to a girl who means so much is never easy, especially when she was my very first British Shorthair queen — the girl who started it all.
Hermione gave me three beautiful litters. She was the most devoted, gentle mother, raising her babies with such patience and quiet strength. She helped shape my cattery and my journey in ways words can’t truly capture. She wasn’t just a queen — she was my beginning, my foundation, my special girl.
But now… it’s her turn.
Her turn to rest.
Her turn to be someone’s whole world.
Her turn to be loved simply for being Hermione.
Knowing she will spend her days bringing comfort, companionship, and warmth to the older generation makes this goodbye softer. She will sit beside someone who needs her, offer quiet purrs, and fill hearts the way she has always filled mine.
A heartfelt thank you to Danielle for arranging everything and travelling to make sure my girl arrived safely. Her new owner is already completely smitten and has promised updates — and that gives me such peace.
We don’t just breed cats… we raise them, love them, and eventually let them go so they can go on to change someone else’s life. That is the hardest and most beautiful part.
Sleep peacefully tonight in your new home, my sweet Hermione.
You will always be my first.
You will always be a piece of my heart 🤍🐾
