7 years ago, training and qualifications through the IMDT. It was fun whilst learning, just as it should be.

IMDT are a good crew to learn from and I'm still a member of the family.
Not all dog trainers are trained equally but this crew continue to promote positive, ethical training, ensuring trainers are up to date with current and relevant training.

Learning never stops!

It was nice to meet Oscar and guardian today for their 1st session. Lovely dog, energetic, friendly and responsive.

Daisy Daisy......our walk went mostly well today. She can be a handful if some dogs get to close, we continued working on it.
It's always good to see her and her guardians and get out for some supported exercise.

Toodyay Tuesday group class was fun this morning.
We introduced a new game called Jolly Swagman, to the sound of Waltzing Matilda of course! And a new scent based game.

Last of all was some play and retrieve exercises, for some breed specific training.
We included "drop it", a very useful behaviour to have on cue, especially for Maisey who likes picking almost everything up but not really doing the whole bring it back and present the item aspects of a desirable retrieve. I think we will revisit this again soon.

Play, don't forget to simply play with your dog in various environments, have fun, connect and form strong social bonds. Its easy to get stuck and focused on obedience and formal training, even positive training can lack fun at times. So today I talked about fun play and interaction.

Mary and Munro managed their longest distance down stay on the mat EVER, it was great to see, with distractions added too! Awsome.

It was great to see Audrey and guardian again today. Such a sensitive sweet girl.
We went out for a sniffy walk and train which was enjoyed by us all.

It was Puppy time this morning!

This little one and Guardian had their 1st session with me.

It's so Important to look after their emotional health at a young age, so they can grow in to confident adult dogs.

A good session.

Well done to Boomer and Guardian for their hard work this morning.

We practised some recall, sits, downs, and introduced bed, stay. We spent some time training some impulse control.

Excellent dog, fun, active, almost takes fingers off when you have food, just what you expect from a young Lab.

It was nice to meet Bentley and guardian today for their 1st session.
A powerful young dog, who finds skills such as loose lead walking very challenging.

Training takes time, consistency and patience. Bentley was responsive to training in suitable environments.

We made a good start, hope to see them again soon.
