To paint power points or not
Power points are funny things, and when old they lose their whiteness, becoming a yuck yellow colour.
The choices are,
1-Paint around them, this making a feature of these gross power points on the freshly painted wall.
2-Buy new covers (few $ each), so you now have a bright white feature on the freshly painted wall
3-Paint the power point covers the same colour as the wall, making them disappear, highlighting the white buttons. This is my preferred advice to clients with the proviso that painted covers will show future wear more than a while plastic and may need a 5 minute touch up in 2-3 years, depending on who lives in the house - pets rubbing against floor level power points, or kids with grubby paws etc.
Here are 2 power point covers that I painted to blend into wall paint, with the buttons easy to see and use.
