An update for everyone on Karen and her injury. I've just been told that unfortunately she is out of action for the rest of this year 😭 Karen is absolutely gutted and devastated with this news, as you can all imagine! As am I. But unfortunately we have no control over the situation, and Karen is doing her absolute best to get through this, and honestly all i care about is her welfare and well being!

This means I am needing to seriously reassess the amount of dogs I have booked in, as you all know, we are very booked up, especially leading up to Xmas. Unfortunately I have to cut back the amount of dogs as I am by myself. This is a regrettable situation but out of my control. I'm very sorry for those this will effect.. I will endeavour to find groomers that still have room to take on new clients and give out their details, so that you are able to get on a schedule now, unfortunately permanently 😭
I truly am sorry, ive been trying my best to get through and honour all those scheduled in, but it is physically impossible to keep this pace up forever and I am only 1 person. I haven't wanted to get someone else in, as I dont want to get someone random in who I dont know and can't watch or properly train. So unfortunately that means, you're stuck with just me.
This isn't an easy decision and ive been putting it off because I honestly appreciate every single person who has supported both of us for so long. We both love all the dogs. I am trying to do the absolute best i can, for everyone. I am trying to source some groomers in the area who will be able to take on some extra dogs, and those details will be passed on to those this effects.

Unfortunately this incident has just sped up the inevitable, as next year, i have decided that I will not be renewing my shop lease, and will be moving from the shop, back to the home salon where I first started, not far away.

Im sorry for the inconvenience this all will cause, including still moving appointments where necessary. I truly thank you all for all your continued support!

I will be taking off the weekend of the public holiday, 27th and 28th sept, and the following weekend is my birthday so I will also be taking that weekend off. I've been working 4 weeks straight including weekends, (will be 6 weeks by then!), and unfortunately I need a break!
I will try moving appointments as much as possible, but again, if you dont need a full groom done and were just having a tidy, please let me know so we can push you out to give me some space.

Just wanting to say another massive Thank You to everyone who has been so willing to work with me on moving to another time slot while Karen is still off!
For those that don't know, unfortunately Kaz was bitten by a dog (one that we have done for years!) and required surgery to have it cleaned out, as the bite chipped a piece of bone off her finger! She is still recovering, but I look forward to having her back when she is ready and able! It's a massive shop being just me without her!

So in the meantime, im doing my best to keep everyone on their schedules as best as I can, working weekends to keep up.

Whilst alot of people have the idea that a bite is "just a part of the job", consider the fact we have both been doing this job for over 20 years, and both of us have never had a bite that has taken us out of work. It's a big deal with ALOT of ripple effects that people don't consider when they make that blasè statement. Yes, we have a -sometimes- dangerous job! But of course all care is taken to not get bitten. Sometimes unfortunately it just happens faster than we can react. But the ripple effects do get quite big, and actions that effect EVERYONE get taken quickly to avoid anything again! So if you do have a dog who happens to bite someone in an animal industry, consider what that person has gone through, (and will go through probably for some time emotionally and mentally), and choose kindness with your words.

Actually, choose kindness always. I'm very grateful that we have such kind customers, who haven't hesitated to help out and shift appointments, with kind words for Kaz and myself too. Even people offering to buy me lunch, drinks, sweep the floors etc on weekends when im working. I really do appreciate it beyond words, more than you all know!

So thank you again, and always choose kindness 🥰🥰🥰

Just a quick update, unfortunately I'll be needing to move some dogs around for when I come back, as I will still be on my own for the foreseeable future. This will most likely mean moving some appointments to saturdays and Sundays again, to try and get everyone in. As you can imagine, we are extremely booked up, so please bare with me. I am only 1 person and can only do so many grooms in a day, but I will do my best to get everyone in where I can.

Just a short post to say a massive thank you to every single person who has, without hesitation, moved, changed, swapped or is waiting until their next date. I'm so beyond appreciative, you have no idea, honestly. This process has been so much easier, thanks to all of you! I do still have a few dogs to move, but that will be for Tomorrow, in between dogs! Thank you all again 🥰🥰🥰
