🐎 1. 𝐇𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝

Discipline: Show Jumping
Rider: Eric Lamaze
Injury: Severe soft tissue injury
Despite suffering an injury early in his career that threatened his future, Hickstead returned to dominate the world stage. He won individual gold and team silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

🐎 2. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨

Discipline: Dressage
Rider: Charlotte Dujardin
Injury: Back and sacroiliac issues early in training
While not a single “career-ending” injury, Valegro struggled with significant physical limitations during early development. Thought to not be strong enough for Grand Prix, a managed training and rehab plan turned him into a multi-gold medalist and world-record holder.

🐎 3. 𝐒𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐲

Discipline: Show Jumping
Rider: Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum
Injury: Tendon and suspensory issues
Shutterfly had several injuries over his long career, and each time, careful rehab brought him back. He went on to win World Cup Finals and international Grand Prix titles well into his teenage years.

🐎 4. 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞

Discipline: Eventing
Rider: David O’Connor
Injury: Serious tendon injury
After a near-career-ending tendon injury, Custom Made was rehabilitated and eventually won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

🐎 5. 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐬

Discipline: Dressage
Riders: Edward Gal / Matthias Rath
Injury: Chronic leg injuries While his return was controversial, Totilas did come back to competition after being out for a long time due to injuries, he demonstrated the possibility of competing post-rehab at elite levels.

𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐒🐉 hormonal triggers
𝙲𝚑𝚎𝚌𝚔 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚍 𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜 /𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚜𝚎𝚜

Certain grains and feed ingredients can influence a mare’s hormonal balance, particularly those that are high in phytoestrogens (plant-based estrogens) or that disrupt insulin sensitivity and metabolic function.

Potential effects include:
• Irregular estrus cycles
• False heats
• Udder development in non-lactating mares
• Reduced fertility
• Behavioural changes (moody, anxious, reactive)

⚠️ 1. Soy (Soybean meal, full-fat soy, soy hulls)
• Contains: High levels of phytoestrogens (especially genistein and daidzein)
• Effect: May mimic estrogen, potentially disrupting reproductive cycles or behavior in sensitive mares
• Common use: Protein source in many commercial feeds

⚠️ 2. Flaxseed (Linseed)
• Contains: Lignans (a type of phytoestrogen)
• Effect: Milder estrogen-like effects; usually not problematic in moderate amounts
• Note: Often used for coat and inflammation support; generally safe unless used in high quantities with other estrogenic feeds!

⚠️ 3. Corn (Maize)
• Contains: Can be high in starch and low in fiber
• Effect: Affects insulin and blood sugar levels more than direct estrogen impact; insulin resistance can affect the hormonal cycle
• Concern: Especially for overweight or metabolic-prone mares

Yes, clover can affect mares, especially red clover and subterranean clover, due to their content of phytoestrogens—plant compounds that mimic estrogen in the body.

⚠️4.Clover :

1. Phytoestrogens (Isoflavones)
• Found in red clover, subterranean clover, and to a lesser extent, white clover.
• These can disrupt natural hormone levels, especially in sensitive mares or those with existing reproductive or mood imbalances.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲!

In the fast-paced world of racing, performance and recovery are everything. For trainers and stable managers looking to give their horses every possible edge, Equissage therapy has become a game-changing tool. Combining non-invasive technology with proven results, Equissage delivers real benefits to racehorses—on and off the track.

🏇 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬

Every stride matters in racing. Equissage uses cycloidal vibration therapy to stimulate blood flow deep within the muscles. This not only enhances oxygen delivery but also helps eliminate toxins like lactic acid. The result? Improved stamina, stronger performance, and a quicker return to peak condition after each race or training session.

𝐈𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡:
• Greater range of motion – Looser, more flexible muscles mean a more powerful, flowing stride.
• Improved muscle symmetry and tone – Particularly helpful for horses in uneven work or returning from injury.

⏱ 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲, 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞

Recovery is just as important as training. Equissage aids in post-workout recovery by improving circulation and lymphatic drainage. This reduces swelling and muscle fatigue, getting horses back to work faster—and more comfortably.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭:
• Reduced muscle soreness post-race
• Faster bounce-back after high-intensity work
• Quicker recovery from soft tissue injuries

🧠 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐦 & 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬

Racehorses are athletes, but they’re also highly sensitive animals. Equissage can help regulate the nervous system, promoting a calmer, more focused horse.
