Our philosophy is that your cat will leave us in as good a condition or better than when it arrived. Owned and managed by Angela and Tony Knox animal lovers, and long term Gold Coast residents who live on the premises. The care of your cat is of the utmost important to us so our guest house has been built with that in mind. They will be warm in winter and cool in summer. Our aim is to provide a ha

ppy, caring environment that will give you peace of mind, knowing that your beloved cat is happy and contented in their home away from home. Guest suites have an individual outdoor area overlooking natural bush scenery. For inclement days they can sit and watch as we go about the daily chores within the guest house or join us whilst we watch a bit of TV or listen to the radio, your feline friends will feel so at home that they will want to come back!!!! Web cam suites are available on a request basis and will incur an extra daily fee. Short or long term, age no barrier. We are only a small feline guest house, therefore we ensure that all of our guests receive maximum care. No dogs allowed!!!

This is our favourite Cat Rescue organisation. They do an amazing job looking after cats and kittens in need.

Let’s help them save more lives ❤️

🐾 DONATIONS NEEDED 🐾

We currently have 30 tiny kittens in care, all under adoptable age, from newborn to 7 weeks!

This stage is the most expensive with quality food, formula, flea and wormers, vaccinations and vet work.......not to mention the unexpected extras like antibiotics or emergency consultations.

Each kitten costs us more than their adoption fee, so we rely on the generosity of our community to help us continue this work.

Every dollar will go directly toward these 30 little lives that are depending on us. All donations are truly appreciated. Thank you 🙏

Alfie is looking for a loving new home! ✨

This handsome boy in the photo is Alfie, a 5-year-old Lilac Burmese with loads of charm and personality! 🐾

Unfortunately, due to health issues, his current guardian can no longer provide the care and home he deserves… 💔 That’s why we’re on a heartfelt mission to find Alfie a new family, one filled with love, patience, and, of course, lots of playtime!

Alfie is very active and playful. He loves running around the house, playing hide and seek, and sometimes gets a little cheeky with playful scratches and love bites (cat people, you know the drill 😹). He’s full of energy and would thrive in a home that can match his fun and lively spirit!

But, like any true cat, Alfie also has a sweet and affectionate side. He loves neck rubs, enjoys cuddles (on his own terms, of course!), and likes being close when he feels safe and loved. 💕

Alfie is a purebred Lilac Burmese, intelligent, affectionate, and definitely a bit cheeky! 😸
He is also desexed and fully vaccinated, so he’s all ready for his next adventure in a forever home.

📣 If you’re interested in adopting Alfie (and how could you not fall in love with that face?), please reach out to us via Instagram, Facebook, or by phone.

And if you can’t adopt right now, sharing this post already helps more than you know!

Let’s find Alfie the a new home?❤️🐾

have a small fold of skin on their outer ear? 🐱 This small fold of skin is also known as 'Henry’s pocket', but its formal name is a 'cutaneous marginal pouch'. The reason for the evolution of this feature is still unclear, but it is thought to assist in filtering sounds to improve detection of higher pitch or frequency, which is useful for cats when they are engaging in predatory behaviours, such as hunting prey.

It could also help the ear to fold flat against the cat's head. Cats may flatten and rotate their ears when they are feeling protective emotions such as fear, anxiety and/or pain. Cats actually have thirty-two individual muscles in each ear that allow them to move their outer ears independently of each other, and because of the large concentration of muscles within a small area, the ears have a diverse range of movement, allowing each ear to rotate 180 degrees!

We’ve prepared a surprise for him with his favorite treat: prawns, because it’s not every day that someone turns 17!

Peanut is a very loved little cat by all of us, and we wish him many more years of life ahead, filled with meows, purrs, love, and lots of affection. May he continue to spread joy for a long time!

Very Helpful tip to understand how your cat could be affected.

Uncooked chicken meat is the most probable way your cat could be at risk of contracting Avian Influenza if the virus arrived in Australia (H5N1 has NOT been reported in Australia yet).

BIRD FLU: Keep cats safe! Cats are very susceptible to H5N1, also known as bird or avian flu, but at this time the overall risk for exposure and infection is believed to be low. The virus has ravaged poultry farms, leading to the mass killing of over 150 million birds. Now, it's been detected in dairy cows, cats—even humans.

Signs of H5N1 infection in cats:
⛔ Respiratory problems like coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, trouble breathing
⛔ Lethargy
⛔ Neurological disorders, such as disorientation or trouble walking
⛔ Sudden onset of severe disease or death without prior signs of illness or injury

Cyclone Alfred brought a lot of rain and a lot of kittens!!

Do you remember last January when we had two female cats and a litter that was abandoned in our cattery?

Turns out that one of the adult females, that we named Rey and she is now called Queenie in her new home, was actually pregnant! We found out minutes before her desexing surgery.

It turns our Queenie was mated before she was handed to us, then on Wednesday she gave birth to 5 gorgeous kittens!

Aren't they cute?

**** Cyclone Alfred Update ****

We don't have power and intermittent communication as our internet is down and the mobile signal is very poor.

If your cat is boarded with us and you are unable to meet your check-out appointment, please get in contact and we'll reallocate it.

If you are planning to board your cat today or the next few days, your booking is confirmed, we are still operating.

If you need to cancel your plans because of the weather, your deposit will be transferred to a future booking.

Our guests are very comfortable, they have had Zylkene throughout the storms and are coping really well. They have been eating really well, playing in the common areas and watching the rain outside.

Once the wind eased down we opened their doors for fresh air. They are very protected because the storm came from the east and the cattery faces the west.
