From 3pm today until 8am tomorrow the after hours emergency phone will be diverted to Church St Vet Hospital 🎄🎅🏼

With summer now upon us it is timely reminder to keep in mind how the warmer weather affects our furry friends ☀️🐶🐱

Heat stroke is a life threatening condition where their body temperature rises and can have serious consequences to their internal organs 🌡

Symptoms can include:
• Panting
• Restlessness
• Drooling
• Vomiting & Diarrhoea
• Lethargy
• Weakness & Collapse

Preventing heatstroke is important, to do this ensure they have cool shaded areas, restrict their exercise on warmer days, ensure they always have access to fresh water. It is also important to remember that pets can burn their paws on hot roads and paths 🐾
