🤝 MEET THE TEAM 🤝

Chris

Chris is the work horse behind the MP+ family. From deliveries, ordering, freight, fixing, fabricating, invoicing. He does the lot. When everyone else is burnt out, Chris is still firing on all cylinders making it happen. Father to 3 horse girls, a son and a horse wife, chris is often left in charge of the shop, the farm and a bunch of horses he didn’t sign up for. He handles it like everything else thrown at him. With a smile and an eye roll. Dependable and an ability to get stuff done, Chris really is the backbone of MP+. It’s taken a lot to get Chris to fill out this questionnaire as he prefers to be a closed book, but here we are. Enjoy.

◾️ What is a personal goal you are working towards:
Producing better crops at home and watching our kids compete more on weekends when possible.

◾️ What do you love most about your job:
So many, but I’ll give 4 things.
- The customers, I’m very grateful for all our amazing customers.
- Our staff who are second to none.
- Deliveries, I’ve seen more of Mudgee and surrounds in the last two years then the 10 before we took over the store.
- Finally I don’t have to set an alarm anymore, my body clock wakes me early enough to be at work with plenty of time to spare.

Farming

◾️ What is a piece of advice you live by:
You only get out what you put in.

◾️ What is your favourite way to start the day (coffee order/ritual):
Sneaking out of the house without waking up my housemates. (Wife and kids).

Lisa

Lisa is the newest recruit to the MP+ family.
Instrumental in making the fish range a reality in store.
After spending hours helping us navigate how we would implement the range, we were delighted when lisa accepted our offer to join the team.
Not only is she extremely passionate about all things fish, she is a gentle, kind, genuine and fun. You will find Lisa in store Saturday mornings and on fish delivery days during the week so make sure you pop in and say hi.

◾️ What is a personal goal you are working towards:
To spend as much time with my family while I still have them all under one roof.

◾️ What do you love most about your job:
Working with fish and learning new things with customers asking questions and telling me about their home aquariums.

▪️Favourite Animal:
This is a hard one as I really love my fish but also love safari animals too.

◾️ What is your passion or hobby outside of work:
Camping with my family

◾️ What is a piece of advice you live by:
Don’t judge others for what you think is an imperfection, as you have no idea what they have gone through just to get out of the house that morning. Kindness costs nothing.

◾️ What is your favourite way to start the day (coffee order/ritual):
The best way to start the day would have to be a walk on the beach.

Shelly

Queen of the over order. You can guarentee if there is a new product in different sizes and colours, Shelly will order 2 of each.
Delivery trucks are often met with an eye roll from other team members, while Shelly laughs and walks out the door saying ‘good luck with that one’ before they start to unpack.
Making sure everyone toes the line, while not really knowing where said line is herself.
Driving everyone mad in store with photos and videos. Forever insisting changing things around to fit more in. That’s a Shelly problem.

◾️ What is a personal goal you are working towards:
👉🏼 Making myself ride along side my kids, who have gone around me while I’ve been cheering from the side line over the years.

◾️ What do you love most about your job:
👉🏼 The people, family and finding new products that change the game.

▪️Favourite Animal:
👉🏼 Cows and Horses.

◾️ What is your passion or hobby outside of work:
👉🏼 Kids. Breeding Horses and Campdrafting.

👉🏼 There are 2 things you shouldn’t take too seriously. Life and yourself.

👉🏼 Coffee. ☕️ Mandatory.

▪️What is your favourite Product in store?
👉🏼 I have so many. Feels wrong to pick one. We literally don’t stock anything we wouldnt use ourselves, so i feel like everything in the shop is hand picked. I guess that is something I love most about our store.

▪️I’d rather be……?
More Organised. But I have accepted that I’m a ‘wing it’ kind of girl and I make it work.
To be honest, I wouldn’t change a thing.
