We have a regular weekly farm care visit in Sailors Falls that’s become a really nice part of our routine each week 🐴🐑🐐

It’s one of those properties where everything just runs quietly and consistently — a mix of sheep, goats, alpaca's, cattle, a horse, peacocks and chickens all with their own routines and personalities. Our visits focus on keeping that rhythm going while the owners are away or tied up, so nothing feels disrupted for the animals.

Each visit includes feeding, water checks, general health observations, and making sure everyone is where they should be and doing well. It’s also a chance to pick up on the little things early — whether that’s a change in behaviour, appetite, or just something that doesn’t look quite right.

These regular bookings are a good reminder that consistent, familiar care makes a big difference — especially when animals are most settled in their own environment.

This is exactly why consistent, hands-on care matters.

Yesterday, during one of our routine visits, we found this little lamb with her head stuck between the rails while trying to reach hay. Her horns had caught, and she was unable to free herself.

Situations like this can escalate quickly — stress, injury, or worse if not picked up in time.

✔️ Checked over before leaving

She’s now back with the others, safe and none the worse for wear.

🐴 Short notice visit for a dear old boy 💛

Not every job is planned — and sometimes, a quick visit makes all the difference.

This morning was a stop-in to make sure this lovely old boy was fed, comfortable, and settled for the day.

Throughout March, we had the privilege of providing in-home care for a beautiful elderly horse over a number of days.

He was an absolute pleasure to look after — calm, kind, and so easy to work with. Horses like him are a reminder of why consistency, patience, and gentle handling matter so much, especially in their older years.
