Hi everyone
It is with a heavy heart I must advise you Small Paws Hairdressing will be ceasing to operate from Thursday 18 November 2021 due to a rare medical condition I have been struggling with for 3 years.
The rare condition I have is Mal de Debarquement Syndrome, or more commonly known as MdDS, it is a neurological disorder. To date, there is no long term effective treatment for MdDS. Symptoms may or may not go away with time.
During the past year I have found the medication effectiveness has reduced. Completing routine grooms was becoming more difficult due to my consistent internal struggle (rocking/swaying).
I have now conceded to this condition which I have been fighting. I sincerely apologize for the timing in my decision and did hope to finish the year out, however I know it is the right time to prioritize my health and well-being.
I wanted to be truly honest and thought everyone should know the reason because I am sure there are so many people like myself with an invisible rare condition.
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank each and everyone of you for supporting my small business, being loyal and trusting me to pamper your fury family member(s). I am truly going to miss my fury friends and you all so much and it breaks my heart to have to say goodbye. I will deeply and passionately miss being a dog groomer, and the abundance of love I receive from all your fur babies.
