GOLDEN COINS finished the NRBC Open Prelims in the number one position with a 231.5, earning $25,251 and bringing his total lifetime earnings to $260,458.
A huge congratulations to Kole Price and his family for pouring your heart and soul into this "Zeus" and believing in what was possible from the very beginning. We know how blessed we are to have a partner like Golden Coins in our life with horses, but what makes this even more rewarding is the strength of the team around him and the belief we all share in what the future can hold.
We look forward to the finals, but already feel like we’ve won what matters most...the love, respect, and gratitude we have for a horse like Golden Coins.

Hustle doesn’t cost anything to master— at the highest level, it’s a choice. What separates a great athlete is combining that hustle with the ability to deliver. When experience meets effort, the job gets done every time. –af

to one of the horses that shaped the very beginning of my career: Barney’s Queen. Jim Paul bought this little mare for me when I first started riding with him, and she became the first horse I ever broke myself. The whole story is pretty wild—Jim was ponying her one day, looked over at me, and said, “Okay, get on.” I was about twelve years old and had no idea what I was in for.

This picture brings back so many memories. I’m just a kid here, probably 12 or 13, learning everything I could. Barney had this slow, easy lope, so we always joked and called her “Barney lope slow.” She packed me through Western pleasure, trail, horsemanship—anything Jim thought I needed to learn. She was the one who taught me how to change leads.

I’m wearing my first pair of chaps—buckstitch, which was a big deal at the time. The saddle is a Porter’s T***s Mansfield, and I remember feeling pretty proud to sit in something like that at that age. The bit was a Grijalva Jim picked for me, with swept-back shanks and a rotating mouthpiece. At the time, I didn’t fully appreciate what I had in my hands—but looking back, it was the first time I started to understand how equipment can shape feel.

Barney was the little mare who helped me find my start in the show pen and in the equitation classes. Horses like her leave a mark that lasts a lifetime.
