Stay here in air-conditioned accomodation or bring your tent, campervan, motorhome or caravan. Lush green lawns underfoot at this oasis in the outback are the perfect spot for a travel stop or getaway Backpackers can work and apply for an extra 12 months on a working visa. Emails will take longer to reply but will be answered.

Unfortunately at present the station is closed to all visitors including locals due to Covid-19 and no accomodation is available.
Please remember that the station is private property and there is no camping, driving on station roads and definitely no shooting.

The big wet has delivered 130 mm over 4 days with more likely yet. The House Dam is full back up past the airstrip road. Most dams should be full, possibly a couple overflowing. All dams were cleaned out, some deepened and two new ones constructed. This should ensure a good supply of water for most of the year.
Total rainfall for the year so far is now 178 mm ( 7 inches ). Which is fantastic.
So how many floodgates will need replacing? A busy year of branding should come as a result of good water and new feed.

Apart from the station activities and camping facilities, West Leichhardt Station also offers visitors the opportunity to observe birds (over 250 species have been seen), spectacular views from the top of the range behind the homestead and many and varied landscapes for photographers and artists. There is always something to do or you can relax around the large bar-b-que or simply lie on the green, green grass.
