Hi everyone,

As Easter approaches, this is a friendly annual reminder to ensure everyone—including our furry family members—enjoys a safe and happy holiday.

Easter egg hunts can be a lot of fun, especially during these challenging times. However, they can also pose risks if not managed carefully.

Chocolate toxicity in pets is particularly common around Easter. Please remember not to leave any chocolate Easter eggs or bunnies where pets can access them. When hiding eggs for your hunt, make a note of exactly where you put them and how many you've hidden.

After the hunt, double-check that all the hidden chocolates have been found and accounted for. This will help keep our pets safe from chocolate toxicity.

Wishing you a wonderful Easter from the MHFVC team!

Dear MHFVC Community - Important Update

The HomeSafe ID Microchip Registry is closing, and pet owners need to take action to ensure their pets remain registered.

If your pet is registered on the HomeSafe ID Microchip registry, it is important to transfer your pet’s microchip details to a new registry.

You can follow the instructions on the Australasian Animal Registry's website www.aar.org.au

How to check:
If you know your pet's microchip number and you want to check which registry your pet has been registered with, head over to www.petaddress.com.au
Enter your pet's microchip number, and follow the instructions you will instantly receive the information.

If you don't know your pet's microchip number come and see us at the Clinic and we will scan your pet/s and find all of these details for you.

To re-register your pet, if they were registered with HomeSafe ID, please follow the instructions on the AAR website www.aar.org.au

NOTE: If your pet was registered through Mt Helena Family Vet Clinic your pet's registration will be with Global Micro Registry and won't be affected 🐾

If you have any questions, please contact the Clinic on 95721777

Dear valued clients,

As part of our clinic improvements we wish to inform that it is a requirement the clinic be closed this Saturday 16th of November from 12noon onwards.

We wish to extend a friendly reminder that if you have any medication that is required for your pet over the weekend to organise a pick up prior to this time.

As always we have information on our website and an automated phone prompt service to assist with any unforeseen emergencies during this time.

We apologise in advance if this inconveniences you in any way and again truly appreciate your understanding.

Warm regards from the team at MHFVC.

Dear valued clients.

It is an exciting time to announce that we will be embarking upon works at the clinic to improve our facilities and services for you and our beloved patients over the coming weeks.
We have put measures in place to continue our care over this time and will endeavour to minimise any disruption of service over this period.
This being said it is inevitable at times we will have to reduce our standard scheduling.
We apologise in advance if this affects you in any way and appreciate your understanding during this period.
Warm regards from the team at MHFVC

Congratulations to all our Amazing Vet Nurses on - VET NURSE DAY today!!! 🥳🥳🏆
We thought we'd list 10 reasons why our Vet Nurses (RVNs) are so Amazing -

1) They're brave and equally calm and confident
2) They're kind and treat every patient with affection and love
3) They're skilled and actively involved in our patients treatment
4) They're knowledgeable, the level of detail they learn is seriously impressive.
5 ) They can work ALL of the machines and are usually also the guardians of all the complex bits of kit in the clinic.
6) They have the strongest of stomachs and it is the RVNs which are in the front line when it comes to, lets just say bodily fluids and odours they deal with on a daily basis
7) They keep the shelves stocked - It’s the RVNs that ensure we always have the drugs and kit we need, that the tablets your pet is on are ready for collection and that their prescription diet is available when you run out.
8) They are animal lovers - I really think few people truly understand the depth to which our RVNs care about animals.
9) They look after everyone - they also look after the people too. They are a shoulder, a cheerleader, and massive support during stressful surgeries. They will take the time to ensure you understand your pet’s problem and the care they need. They will be on hand to answer questions, support you throughout your pet’s life and be with you at the end, with cups of tea and tissues for the tears.
10) They are integral to us! we couldn't do it without you!!!

Not all superheroes wear capes – some dress in 'Bahama' green! 😄
Thank you guys, MHFVC 🙌👏🥇🥳
