If it’s not already clear from our booking site, the charge for casual arena hire at Woolbrae is $30 per horse, per hour.

If you only book one slot, ie Show jumping 1, that means you only bring one horse. Simple as that.

Message me if it’s not clear but I won’t tolerate repeat offenders! Those trying to cheat the system will be banned.

Exciting news for our SJ arena customers:

We have recently taken delivery of a brand new set of Horizon Show Jumps, they are amazing but we need everyone to do their bit to ensure they stay in great condition.

Could all riders please observe the following rules at all times :

- Under no circumstances can the new poles or dazzles be on the ground.
- Old poles which are painted white are to be used as ground poles.
- If you break a pole, replacement cost $130.
- If you break a dazzle board, replacement cost $350
- Under no circumstances are distances to be changed.
- It is to be expected that you may need to make the oxers narrower or wider. The oxers are to be moved from the outer wings as to not affect the distances. If this does not make sense, please ask for further clarity.
- Everything has been set up to be jumped both ways.
- If you are needing to make the jumps smaller and there are too many poles, the spare poles are to be placed on the outer edge of the arena on the pole hooks.
- Once you have finished jumping ALL poles are to be placed back on the arena in their designated jump.
- There will be cloths left in waterproof tubs in the arena. If poles are to fall on the ground, please wipe them all. It is important especially when it’s wet and just in general as the waxed surface is sticky
- Please be respectful and leave the arena and jumps how you found it.
- We are incredibly privileged to have these amazing facilities, please treat them with the upmost care.
- If there is anything that does not make sense, please ask for further clarity

As some of you might be aware, we have decided to concentrate on our own horses, with the below two babies are part of our future.

Our Martin Collins Waxed Fibre Surface arenas are still available for hire through our online booking system, however to cover increasing costs the price will rise by $5 per horse In November.

Currently hiring! Part time Equestrian Facility Manager, Mount Duneed VIC

We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced horse lover to join our team at Woolbrae.

Sharing the duties with another person, the position is perfect for an all-rounder that includes:

- Taking care of approx. 20 horses, feeding, rugging, worming etc
- Maintenance/ grading of our show jumping and dressage arenas
- Pick up and harrow manure in paddocks
- Order Hay and Supplies
- Co-ordinate farriers and vet visits
- Co-ordinate with maintenance team to ensure everything is in good order
- On site point of contact for agistees and arena hire clients
- Keep Woolbrae horses in work as required (riding/ lunging etc)
- driving farm vehicles, tractor/ farm buggy (will provide training)
- General farm duties - feed small amount of sheep and chickens

Ideal person is:
- Experienced with horses, capable of handling all sizes (we don’t have any nasty ones)
- likes the idea of flexible work hours, normally between 15-20 hours per week
- Able to work at least one day each weekend (ie early morning feed/ afternoon)
- Has their own car and driver’s license
- Can confidently tow a horse float (with our car)
- Is a confident rider in dressage and/or showjumping
- Has a real eye for detail when it comes to horses
- Lives within a reasonable distance of the property
- Can work closely with other team members

There is also the possibility that the successful applicant could bring their horse to Woolbrae if that is of interest.

Role to commence towards end of April.

A busy but fulfilling few days, firstly a visit to Equitana in Melbourne to enjoy many things equine including a Masterclass with Warwick Schiller (I can recommend his podcasts ‘The Journry on’) & some shopping for new equipment. Then after watching another downpour it was off to a neighbouring property for snake awareness training, after ‘meeting’ 4 different snake types resident Woolbrae Golden Retriever Radar got the idea they were not his friends!

I was recently able to broaden my Equine Assisted Learning practice at Woolbrae to incorporate how the broader natural world can help us see, expand and deepen our personal development and relationships. Witnessing ways nature supports clients with nervous system regulation, self awareness and connection & purpose.
