Because I’ve rebranded, and there are a few new people here, I thought I’d give everyone a brief rundown on who runs the show (mostly, except when I’m away and Dad takes over!)

Im a 5* event rider who grew up between NZ and Australia, moving here permanently in 2007. I spent 3 years in the UK from 2012-2014 and learnt lots - mostly that the UK is lovely in summer (July and August) and quite rubbish for the rest of the time! I have worked for a variety of other riders, ridden lots of feral young horses, done breakers, hunted big hedges in the UK, and seem to have a knack for acquiring the “quirky’ ones.
I love true crime podcasts, sushi, Mexican food, gin, mimosas, books of most descriptions, being outside, lawn mowing (but NOT gardening), farm projects and I’m the mother of Saffron Wallace the mini schnauzer who is very vocal about absolutely everything and two rescue cats - Eddie and Dexter - who are ridiculously indulged.
My full time job consists of working from home for Equestrian Australia where I am in charge of most things FEI related; event schedules, entry checks, registrations, passports, arguing about the event calendars etc.
I am very fortunate that I work from home on hybrid hours so I can fit everything in, though sometimes I wish we had 36 hour days.
I have a strong interest in fitness, nutrition and conditioning of performance horses, and I also like to make plans, renovate tack rooms, collect bits and investigate every available gadget that could make our sport better. I love trying to help people trouble shoot with their horses and I’m easily won over by a delivery of caffeine in the morning 🩷

Update!

There's few things more satisfying than watching a horse change shape and coat colour - and no, there's not a filter on either picture!
Beetle came from a friend of mine and he was in overall good condition - a little bit bleached from being turned out in a herd without a rug and just a generally gangly baby TB.
He's had 5 weeks of work here, nothing too hectic - though I did take him to a jump club 10 days after he arrived (and he was perfect!) but he's really starting to develop nicely.
He's fed on Pryde's EasiFeed Easi Keeper and chaff, with Kelato Animal Health GastroAid Everyday and KelatoLyte - nothing complicated or too concentrated.
He's also the nicest personality, cuddly and sweet - his only vice is he likes to remove his rugs with his teeth! 😆

I put my two retired brown 5* ponies out together today so now I’ve got a spare paddock for a full care agister.

The farm is located 5 minutes from Moss Vale, 8 minutes from Bowral.

🦄60 x 25m dressage arena that has good drainage.
🦄 SJ fences built and changed regularly for variety in schooling.

This is Ollie.
Ollie is affectionately referred to as the Baby Dino 🦕 and he is an excellent example of how a balanced nutrition program allows a horse to do their job, develop muscle and not go off their brains on high octane feed.
Ollie is fed chaff and Pryde's EasiFeed 150 pellets - supplemented with Kelato Animal Health GastroAid Everyday and KelatoLyte.
And yes, I know he needs bigger jumps 🤣

Know your 💩🤣
We muck out our paddocks daily - unless a horse is really upset by the kubota - and it is quite informative.
Not only does it mean you constantly check fences, troughs and for any holes or fallen branches, it gives you a really good idea of how your horses health is and also means we aren’t leaving harrowed manure sitting on top of the ground if it doesn’t rain. 
Doesn’t mean it’s my favourite job but it’s useful!
And also a huge shout out to White's Tractors Pty Ltd who keep our Kubota running despite the constant hammering it gets.

About Us

Located in the heart of Southern Highlands horse country, Wallace Equine, situated on 140 acres at Burwood Lodge, is the culmination of years of loving restoration and development from dairy farm to top class equine facility.

Upper level event rider Laura Wallace and her family have followed their vision to create the ultimately professional and yet welcoming training and agistment environment for both horses and riders.

Kilometres of horse safe fencing encase the pasture that is carefully maintained to provide acres of arable grazing for horses, as well as creating a laneway system for hacking out and fitness work.

The 60 x 40 arena is floodlit and irrigated, allowing early morning work in the height of summer and ensuring near perfect footing all year round.
