Disgraceful behaviour for a species that considers itself intelligent

The most frustrating thing about doing infrastructure and repair work, apart from never having enough money, is having to work intelligently to a priority schedule. It means leaving one project that you really are getting your teeth into and doing the essential part of other projects that won't fruition for months.. sometimes years. It is however the appropriate time to do what needs to be done to save later expense and not impede the progression of projects that rely upon this or that being done first. Apart from my son needing me to do a quick job for him, tomorrow will be a welcome return to do a part day on the cool room/loading dock complex :) I can actually see completion on the horizon for that project! Awesome! Despite using second hand materials and doing the work myself the sheer number of projects currently ongoing has once again depleted my personal bank account (sadly, as I'm in my sixties and a self funded retiree, I periodically have to wait for funds to build up again). I don't ask for donations for repairs and infrastructure... although it would be nice ;) I do however have to ask for donations for vet bills. 22 September will see at least 16 girls at the vets and we do not have anywhere near enough in the LTLG account to pay for that. Another girl from ICU just got her first trip outside, and solid food, in a month. She's not really ready yet but it's such a nice day that there's a real benefit in lifting her spirits by reminding her of what life is all about :)

During the construction of the extension to the legends flock's night house the sheer number of willing "helpers" meant I had to fence off the area....much to the vocal disgust of those "helpers"

Yesterday my son, James, and I poured the floor on the extension to the legends flock's night house. About a decade ago when I planned the ex-surgery girls house I never considered that they would live so long. I estimated that natural attrition would stabilise their numbers to keep pace with incoming surgery girls. Well, they just don't die; instead they thrive! The numbers of decade old girls continues to climb meaning an extension to their night house was necessary before the next major intake. Thank you son. Again, no donations were used on construction; I personally fund the infrastructure and repairs.
