Homesafe ID is closing down. Please check your furbabes chips and change if you need to :)
I have to do this with my 2 kitties 😸 💕
HomeSafeID microchip registry is closing! Here’s what you need to do.
HomeSafeID, a Microchip Pet Registry company used in Australia, is shutting down. As a result, if your animal is registered with HomesafeID and becomes lost, your data will not be able to be accessed when the microchip is scanned. This will make it difficult to reunite you with your pet!
You will need to register your information with another microchip company. You do not need to get another microchip.
If you don’t know your pet’s microchip number or have lost their details, contact your veterinarian. If you have visited that practice before they will have the microchip number on file. Otherwise the vet, council or animal rescue can scan your pet and provide the microchip number.
To find out which microchip company your pet’s microchip details are registered with, visit petaddress.com.au. Insert the microchip number. The company the microchip is registered with will be shown.
Once you have searched in Pet Address, click on the link to the relevant microchip company.
Other microchip companies that you can register with:
* Australasian Animal Registry (National Wide): aar.org.au/ 02 97041450
* Central Animal Registry (National Wide): car.com.au/ 03 97063187
* Global Micro Animal Registry: 02 8338 9063
* Petsafe: petsafe.com.au/ 02 8850 6800
If any of your details have changed - your address, phone number email address or your pet changed ownership ensure the details on your pet’s microchip are correct when you change to a new microchip registry.
Changing to a new microchip registry can cost $12 and over – this is a small fee to pay to help your pet to reunited with you should they go missing.
