K9 Tales is an approved Government Training Institution providing specialist services in:
Assistance Dog Training and Placement.

Qualifications include:
National Dog Training and Behaviour Modification (NDTF) Certificate
Government approval under the Guide Hearing and Assistance Dog Act 2009
Bachelor of Applied Health Science. At K9 Tales we strive to enhance the relationship and bond between humans and canines. Our Assistance Dogs are bred to include the Early Neurological Stimulation Program and socialisation during the

critical development stages. Our mission is to partner highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities to enrich and enhance their life. All our programs are personalised to address individual needs and goals.

Members in K9 Tales Dog School Program receive updates and training tips throughout the day to assist with their training progress at home.
The K9 Tales Dog School Program, is aimed for people who want to give their dogs some extra training and enrichment throughout the day. This program is ideal for busy people or for those who just need that extra boost for their dogs. Dogs are dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon, while receiving intensive training throughout the day.

Ok, I have to admit, I do like to take a good photo. But let's take a minute to take a deeper look at this. To get a good photo, it requires me to have the dogs being able to maintain their position, whether that be sit, down, or stand. Without obedience, this would never happen. Taking a good photo requires me to have engagement with the dog. Engagement comes from building a positive relationship between the dog and myself. It requires trust for when I ask the dog to follow my cue for whatever stage I set. It requires impulse control, good manners, and confidence when I add multiple dogs. So, taking the perfect photo involves training, having a positive relationship with your dogs, and of course the perfect setting.

Calling all puppies! Our next group puppy class commences on Monday the 16th of January. If you would like to learn how to correctly socialise your puppy, how to understand their body language, what to do when your puppy is toileting in the house, chewing, and other common puppy behaviours, how to start teaching basic commands, and much more then this is the class for you. For 5 weeks classes are held in Mooloolah to teach you all this and answer any questions you may have (puppy related). With the festive season upon us, the team at K9 Tales would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. This year a special mention needs to be made about our star Wilson. He touched many people's hearts and was a fabulous role model and trainer to many dogs young and old. Wilson gained his angel wings just before Christmas and leaves behind everlasting pawprints for other puppies to fill. While our new year will be a little emptier now, we wish everyone a wonderful New Year and look forward to meeting many new puppies and enriching peoples lives with our trained Assistance Dogs.

Time has flown by with our latest puppies and lots of learning and positive socialisation is taking place. These puppies are all looking adorable but there is much more to this picture. At K9 Tales we work to give puppies a voice, a process called manding. Manding empowers puppies by allowing them to ask for attention based on offered behaviours. This process is very different to formal obedience training based on rules. Manding increases engagement and socialibility making dogs much easier to train.
