Dogs handle heat about as well as I do lol 😂 and that’s poorly because I was built for northern hemisphere climes lol 😂 and dogs handle heat even worse than me cuz they primarily cool by panting.

Panting becomes inefficient on high humidity days.

But dry heat isn’t much better as doggos need constant water, shade, cool surfaces, and limited exercise in hot weather (especially between 11 am - 4pm).

Not being able to self-regulate (dress coolly, remove layers) can lead to a dangerous level of overheating or even heatstroke.

Of course puppies and older dogs are at greater risk. Stay cool & ensure your pets do too. 🌼

In Queanbeyan only for the day looking after lovely fluffers & I love the park here.

There’s a p**p bag dispenser!!

Who can complain about a water feature on a hot day. Just perfect 👌

With all these gorgeous glorious trees, it’s degrees cooler!!

On hot days think of cool escapes for yourself & your fluffers

Take care with temps rising again & assess the risk to your dog of walking during the heat of the day. ☀️

Night walks might present as a better option in temps over 26C to help safeguard the safety & wellbeing of beloved fluffers.

They can’t un-fur and generally don’t wear protective paw-wear & bitumen roads & concrete paths can heat up more than hoomans can tell in shoes/protective footwear.

I read somewhere that if you can’t hold your hand to a concrete path/bitumen road for 7 seconds it’s too hot for dog paws.

I just love this boy!! How cute is he?

When I first met Maxi it was only a few weeks after he was rescued. It was evident he’d not been well cared for & possibly even abused.

His new carers got him from a local rescue group … and he was uber timid & skitish.

He wouldn’t go inside his new family’s house & they kept him chained outside cuz he’d run off.

It only took two care periods for him to calm down & come inside & eat with us.

He’s very chill with us now & I love it soooo much ♥️ he’s still very nervy but baby steps. This is his 3rd stay period with us. Gorgeous boy!! ♥️♥️♥️

Cuz we offer a range of popular & in-demand services like:

BAM property visits
(us visiting your properties am & pm to feed your chooks, ducks, rugging/unrugging horses, livestock & caring for your pets)

BAM property stays
(me staying on your farm/property to look after your pets, poultry, horses & livestock)

BAM emergency in-our-home boarding (for a small number of dogs, cats & birds)

We don’t often get to share time together at home for long enough stretches to get major projects tended to or completed ~ which makes the work we put in over this past weekend to fix our stable area for our horses a real treat & finishing our aviary set up a huge plus.

The high winds & inclement weather we’ve all endured over the past few years has made short work of a shed we put up months ago, the stable roof & its support posts which fell in, quite a number of fallen trees, branches … our next big projects are building a new chook run 🤞🤞 and upgrading the wood shed which has taken a hammering lol 😂 Country life, right?
