A newly released landslide risk map for the Yarra Ranges Shire Council has identified over 13,400 properties potentially exposed to landslide or falling debris hazards, with areas such as Belgrave, Monbulk, Mount Dandenong and Warburton being amongst the most vulnerable.
This new planning overlay does not prevent development, but it does introduce a need for greater transparency around the risks involved.
Property owners seeking to build, renovate, or subdivide will need to understand how their land may be affected by slope instability, and how to adapt their designs accordingly; that’s where we come in.
At Smolders Geotechnical, we specialise in landslip risk assessments, having worked all across Victoria with a diverse range of clients including local councils, government agencies, insurers, architects, designers, and private landowners.
Whether you require a Geotechnical Assessment or a Landslip Risk Assessment, we deliver detailed, council compliant reports signed off by qualified geotechnical professionals with the required chartered status in this specialised field.
