At just 8 months old, beautiful Spicey has already experienced more heartbreak than any puppy ever should. She was cruelly abandoned and left alone in a backyard by the people who were meant to love and protect her.

🐾 Rescue Myth Monday 🐾

MYTH #1

“Rescues get government funding.”

FACT:

Most dog rescues in NSW receive little to no government funding.

Every vet bill, bag of food, vaccination, desexing surgery, transport run and kennel payment is made possible through donations, fundraising and volunteers.

Without community support, many rescues simply couldn’t continue.

MYTH #2

Adoption fees rarely cover what we spend on a dog.

Most dogs require:
• Vaccinations
• Microchipping
• Desexing
• Worming
• Flea treatment
• Vet checks
• Behaviour assessments
• Food
• Transport

Many cost significantly more than their adoption fee

MYTH #3

“Behavioural issues mean a dog is bad”

FACT:

Most behavioural issues are caused by fear, lack of training, inconsistent boundaries or previous experiences.

Many dogs simply need patience, guidance and understanding

“Volunteers just cuddle puppies all day.”

FACT:
