Look after your friends in the garden. Here we have some cocoons from a parasitic wasp that lays its eggs in caterpillars. The eggs hatch and eat the caterpillar while it is still alive. Pretty gruesome stuff but it helps keep these cabbage moth caterpillars under control. Don’t squash these yellow cocoons, they are the pupae of the wasp and they are your friends. I also picked some caterpillars off the broccoli and cabbages for the chickens to enjoy.

After quite a while since I have posted anything here I have had a bit of extra time to do some gardening during these times of social distancing and staying at home due to covid19. I had resurrected the vege gardens with sugar snap peas and silverbeet being the first plants to promise a bit of a harvest very soon.

You don't realise how pretty it looks under this wisteria until you are under it doing a bit of weeding. The bees sure do know how pick a nice place to collect nectar.

During the bad weather we have had recently one of my hives fell over. Luckily it wasn't too hard to put it right again.
