We 🧡 kitties!
As the saying goes, cats are not small dogs, and shouldn’t be treated as such. We know that taking your cat to the vet can be incredibly stressful for everyone involved, and we take active steps to try to reduce stress as much as possible for these little guys. Some things we can do to help your cat have a great experience include:
- Having high up cat crate parking to get them off the floor where they feel vulnerable
- High value yummy treats on hand for stressful procedures
- Reducing smell and noise from doggies where possible and using Feliway spray for positive pheromone vibes
- Using skin numbing cream before blood draws or IV placements
- Ensuring hospitalised cats have a dark and quiet environment with litter boxes and food and water if appropriate
- Have our staff trained in stress free protocols for handling. There will be NO scruffing or rough handling of cats on our watch!
- And most importantly, we are huge advocates of pre-visit pharmaceuticals to reduce stress starting from home! No more anxious car rides and struggling to put your cat in their carrier, stress free starts from home
