🐶 Growing Puppies Need More Than Just Food… They Need the Right Nutrition! 🧡

Did you know that puppies grow faster during their first year than at almost any other time in their lives?

That's why balanced nutrition plays such an important role in supporting healthy growth and development.

A growing puppy needs:

🥩 Quality protein to help build strong muscles and support normal body development.

🦴 Balanced calcium and phosphorus to support healthy bones and teeth. More isn't always better—it's important that these nutrients are provided in appropriate amounts and proportions for growing puppies.

🧠 Healthy fats, including omega fatty acids, to support normal brain development, skin and coat health.

💧 Fresh water available at all times to keep puppies well hydrated, especially during play and warm weather.

🍽️ Regular meals suited to their age, as young puppies have small stomachs and benefit from eating smaller meals more frequently.

Remember, every puppy is an individual. Their nutritional needs can vary depending on their age, size, breed type and activity level.

💜 REMEMBER ME WEDNESDAY 💜
Mabel & Nellie — Sisters, Best Friends & Heart Healers 🐾
Today we continue Jersey’s story with two very special girls from her litter born 10 September 2022 — beautiful sisters Mabel & Nellie. ❤️
These two went to their forever home together, and years later they are still rarely far from one another. Their Mum & Dad describe them perfectly as Yin & Yang — two very different personalities, but happiest when they're together.
They walk together, sleep together, play together and, of course, cuddle together. 🥰
👑 Mabel is the little princess of the family. She prances her way through life and loves her walks, caravanning adventures, playing in water and her squeaky fluffy toys. She is outgoing, confident and definitely the leader of the pair.
💕 Nellie is the quieter soul. She runs like a little bulldozer, LOVES her food and takes her time deciding who is worthy of entering her special circle. If Nellie lets you into her comfort zone, you know you've earned something precious.
And apparently, if there's cheese involved, both girls can hear that packet opening from rooms away! 😂🧀
Their family shared something with me that really touched my heart:
“Our girls are our world. They came into our life at a very sad time. They are our heart healers. They make us smile and laugh every day.”
This is why I love our Remember Me posts so much.
I remember these little ones as tiny puppies beginning their lives here at Alkaz, and then I get to see them years later—loved beyond measure, caravanning, stealing toys, sharing beds, giving cuddles and helping heal hearts. ❤️
Mabel & Nellie didn't just find a home.
They became family.
Thank you to their beautiful Mum & Dad for loving Jersey's girls so completely and for allowing us a little glimpse into the wonderful life they share.
From Jersey's babies to two very loved family girls. 🐾💜
This is what happily ever after looks like.

Remember Me Wednesday – Jersey 💜
Today's Remember Me is all about our beautiful Jersey. 🐾
Jersey is one of Lulu & Bailey's precious babies and has just celebrated her 5th birthday. 🎂
She first went to live with my daughter in Sydney before returning home to Alkaz, where she became a wonderful mum and blessed us with four beautiful litters. Every puppy she raised carried her gentle, loving nature, and I couldn't have been prouder of her.
Jersey has always been so much like her mum, Lulu. She believes every toy belongs to her, loves everyone she meets, and has the sweetest, kindest soul. She brings so much joy wherever she goes.
When her breeding journey came to an end, Jersey returned to my daughter in Sydney to enjoy the retirement she truly deserves. These days she's living her very best life—completely adored, wonderfully spoilt, and, just like her mum, has become a little chunky monkey. 🥰
One of the things that makes my trips to Sydney so special is knowing I get to cuddle my beautiful girl again. Seeing her happy, healthy and so loved reminds me exactly why we do what we do. Every one of our mums deserves a forever home where they are cherished long after they've finished raising puppies.
Happy 5th Birthday, sweet Jersey. Thank you for the beautiful puppies you gave us, and thank you to my daughter & extended family for loving you every single day. We love you always. ❤️🐾

💜 An Update on Leia & JD 💜
Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans.
After Leia's ultrasound today, we've learned that she is unfortunately not expecting puppies this time.
We know this news will be just as disappointing for everyone on our waitlist as it is for us. We were so looking forward to welcoming this special litter and sharing the journey with you all.
Breeding is never guaranteed, and despite careful planning, health testing, and doing everything possible, sometimes pregnancies simply don't happen. It's one of the emotional realities of ethical breeding.
The most important thing is that our beautiful Leia is happy, healthy, and completely unaware of our disappointment. ❤️ She'll enjoy being thoroughly spoiled while we make plans for her next opportunity when the time is right.
To everyone who placed their trust in Alkaz and joined our waitlist, thank you for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support. It truly means the world to us.
We'll keep you updated every step of the way, and as always, we'll let nature lead the journey.
