💔 We’re Drowning 💔
Every day, up to 10 new surrender requests land in our inbox.
Ten animals. Ten stories. Ten desperate pleas for help.

And behind every email, message and call is a pet we don’t want to say no to.
But we’re overwhelmed.

Since 2007, SARG has quietly been the little group of local volunteers doing what we can—day in, day out—to help animals in our region. No big offices. Just a handful of people who care.

We’re exhausted.
We’re burning out.
We’re holding on to the small wins in a climate where animals are treated as disposable and “giving up” has become the default.

We see the messages.
We get the calls.
We read the emails.

And we try—every single day—to help.

We know times are tough.
We know households are stretched just trying to keep up and keep roofs over their heads.
But somewhere along the way, our pets have slipped to the bottom of the list.

They don’t get to choose what happens to them.
They just wait, confused and scared, hoping someone is coming for them.

We are begging:
If you can foster, reach out.
If you can adopt, please—for the love of everything—adopt. Don’t shop.
And if you can donate, even a little helps us keep going.

Andy 🩵
Last night, we said goodbye to our beautiful boy — my first dog, and the best friend I could’ve ever asked for.
Andy, Andrew, Andy Poo, Andino, Andrew Pandrew, and Ands.
I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. It was unexpected and too soon.
But I’ll forever be grateful for the years we had—the cuddles, the chaos, the quiet moments, the unconditional love.
Life already feels different without you Andy, I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for a world without you in it.
Thank you for being my best friend, Andy.
You’ll always be with me.
