Meet Dash 🥹❤️ One of my absolute favourites!

Dash is the perfect example of why grooming isn’t always as easy as it looks 😂 He is THE sweetest boy, gets so excited to come see us, loves his cuddles and gives the best kisses… but grooming? Yeah, not his favourite activity 😅

This little video shows a bit of what actually happens behind the scenes. We work with Dash at his pace, give him breaks when he needs them, lots of reassurance and plenty of cuddles along the way.

And the funniest part? After giving us a little “warning,” he immediately feels bad and comes back for kisses 🥹

Not every dog enjoys being groomed, and that doesn’t make them a bad dog. Our job is to understand their communication, keep them as comfortable and safe as possible, and work with them rather than against them.

And yes… we ended with a celebration dance!

Dash, we love you even if you don’t love groomindance!

🍯 Meet Honey! 🍯

This gorgeous 5-month-old Cocker Spaniel came in yesterday for a lovely bath and tidy, including gently stripping out her loose undercoat. Look at that sweet little face! 🥹

**A little coat-care lesson!**

Did you know that stripping out a dog’s loose undercoat is different from shaving their coat?

With a double-coated or naturally shedding coat, removing the loose undercoat helps get rid of dead, loose hair while leaving the healthy outer coat intact. It can help keep the coat feeling lighter, cleaner and more manageable without changing the natural structure of the coat.

Shaving, on the other hand, removes the coat much closer to the skin. Depending on the individual dog and their coat, the hair may not grow back exactly the same as it was before. It can sometimes come back softer, thicker, patchy or with a different texture or colour.

**But here's the important part:** there isn't one "right" choice for every dog!

Every dog, coat and lifestyle is different, and sometimes shaving or clipping is absolutely the best and most practical option for that particular dog. The most important thing is that owners have the information they need to make the choice that works best for their pooch. ❤️

Our goal is simply to help educate owners about the different options available, so you can make an informed decision about your dog's coat care.

And Honey? She was an absolute sweetheart for her puppy groom! 💛

🌧️ Meet Rain & Stormy! ⛈️

These two adorable little Schnauzer siblings came in yesterday for their very first **bath & tidy** — and how cute are they?! 🥹

Puppy grooms are about SO much more than just making them look fluffy and fresh. Starting grooming from a young age helps puppies become familiar with all the new sights, sounds, smells and sensations that come with being at the salon.

The bath, dryer, brushes, clippers, scissors, grooming table and all that handling can be a LOT for a puppy who has never experienced it before. Introducing these things gradually and positively helps them build confidence and become more comfortable with grooming as they grow. 🥰

At K9 Corner, we also offer a **Puppy Introduction** for little ones who aren't quite ready for a full groom. These sessions are all about taking things slowly and introducing your puppy to the salon, the different noises and sensations, and the grooming process in a calm and positive way.

The goal? To help create a puppy who grows into a confident, happy little grooming superstar! ⭐️
