✨ JOIN OUR TEAM FOR YEARLING SEASON ✨
Glenn Lee Thoroughbreds is a small boutique thoroughbred stud located just 10 minutes from Berry and only 3 minutes from town. We pride ourselves on providing quality care to our horses in a supportive, hands-on environment where every team member plays an important role.
Accommodation is provided in our staff house, located right on the beautiful Shoalhaven River. With opportunities for water skiing, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities, it’s a great place to unwind after work. Best of all, because the accommodation is off the farm, once you’ve finished work for the day, you can truly switch off.
About the Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Stud Hands to join our team for the upcoming yearling season, which runs from November through to March. 88-day visa holders are welcome to apply. This role focuses on preparing yearlings for Australia’s major yearling sales and is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience on a boutique farm where you’ll be involved in every aspect of the preparation process.
Daily duties include:
● Feeding horses
● Rugging
● Grooming and presentation
● Cleaning stables
● Educating and handling young horses
● General stable and farm duties
The position includes a split shift every second weekend.
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role you will:
● Have previous horse handling experience
● Be confident working independently as well as within a team
● Hold a current driver’s licence and have your own reliable vehicle (the staff accommodation is located off the farm)
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, experience in thoroughbred studs or yearling preparation would be an advantage. Most importantly, we’re looking for people with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for horses.
What You’ll Receive:
Working on a smaller boutique farm means you’ll gain hands-on experience across all areas of yearling preparation rather than being limited to one role. We’re happy to teach motivated people who are looking to build their knowledge or further develop their skills within the thoroughbred industry.
We offer:
● Accommodation provided in a comfortable staff house on the Shoalhaven River
● A supportive team environment with ongoing learning and mentoring
● A great lifestyle just minutes from Berry and the South Coast’s beautiful beaches and attractions
● Salary will be based on experience
How to Apply:
If you’re hardworking, passionate about horses and looking to be part of a friendly, dedicated team this yearling season, we’d love to hear from you.
