Our next A Waggy Success Group Manners Course starts this September!

📍 Horrie Long Reserve, Fremantle
🕘 Saturdays | 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
📅 Starting Saturday, September 12th
💰 $160 for 4 lessons

✨ Course Dates:
• Week 1 – September 12th
• Week 2 – September 19th
• September 26th – NO CLASS (Long Weekend)
• Week 3 – October 3rd
• Week 4 – October 10th

This course is all about helping your dog learn to stay calm, focused and engaged around real-life distractions, using positive, reward-based training. 💛

MANNERS COURSE GRADUATION DAY!

A HUGE congratulations to all of our clever dogs and their amazing humans who graduated from my A Waggy Success Manners Course today! 🥳👏

I’m so proud of how far everyone has come over the four weeks. We’ve worked on focus, loose-lead walking, recall, polite manners, settling, working around distractions and, most importantly, building great communication between dogs and their humans. ❤️

It has been so lovely watching everyone grow in confidence each week — and today you absolutely smashed it! 🌟

Thank you to all the wonderful humans for putting in the practice at home and making training fun for your dogs. Remember, graduation doesn’t mean the training stops… keep practising those skills out in the real world! 🐶🐾

Our next Puppy Preschool course starts Sunday, September 6th, with Nurse Emma.

Designed by Nikky at A Waggy Success (IMDT Certified Dog Trainer), this fun and educational 4-week course gives your puppy the best start in life.

✅ Puppies aged 8–13 weeks are welcome

💉 Puppies only need one vaccination before attending.

📍 Classes are held in our dedicated Puppy Preschool building next door to Melville Animal Hospital, providing a safe and controlled environment.

During the course we'll cover:

🐾 Mouthing

🐾 Mental enrichment

🐾 Basic grooming

🐾 Sit, Stay, Eye Contact, Leave It and other foundation cues

🐾 Meet Dasher! 🐾

This handsome little guy is Dasher, an 8-month-old Miniature Schnauzer who I had the pleasure of meeting for his very first one-on-one training session.

Dasher currently finds walks a little challenging. He tends to pull on the lead and can feel worried around unfamiliar people and other dogs, which can sometimes result in fear-based reactions.

During our first session, we introduced some important foundation skills to help Dasher:

Build confidence around people and other dogs
Learn to check in and focus on his owner
Develop calm, loose-lead walking skills
Learn alternative behaviours when he is feeling worried or overwhelmed
Build positive associations with the world around him

We also discussed management strategies to help keep Dasher feeling safe and prevent him from becoming overwhelmed while he is still learning.

The goal isn't to force Dasher to interact with things he finds scary. Instead, we're giving him distance, choice and positive experiences, while teaching him the skills he needs to navigate the world with more confidence.

Dasher did such a wonderful job during his first session, and I'm looking forward to watching his confidence and walking skills grow.
