Melton Dog Obedience Club was well represented by 4 members and 6 dogs at this years Royal Melbourne Show.
We had 4 Dogs/Handlers in the Community Companion Dog Class (CCD). There was a total of 12 dogs entered in this class.
First dog to enter the ring for MDOC was Jane & "Littlerayofsunshine". Sunshine decided that today was not the day for dropping, but did do a wonderful recall😊
Second dog to enter the for MDOC was Tameka & Trumyra Barrel Aged Bandit (Wh***ey) the baby of the group did a wonderful heel until the call of nature put an end to his day😒
Third dog to enter the ring for MDOC was Jacqui & "Duncansmemate". Duncan worked wonderful and even did his recall!!! no nicking off out of the ring to find Graeme😂
fourth dog to enter the ring for MDOC was Tania & "Totallytobylicious". Toby put in a great heel pattern, but unfortunately when it came to the stand for exam he had an OOOOPs moment and thought it was better to enjoy the pat and then follow mum on return.😦
Once all 12 dogs had been judged and the scores were tallied, it was announced the entrant #2256- "Duncansmemate" & Handler Jacqui-Sue Carlile were placed 1st with a score of 94/100.

In the Novice Class (CD) we had 1 Entrant, with 5 dogs entered in the class.
Tameka & "Koda CCD" even though the weather was warm and slowed Koda down a bit, he was fantastic, completing all aspects of his class, scoring highly and the being placed 3rd in the class.

In the Open Dog class, (CDX) we had 1 entrant, with 15 dogs entered in the class.
Tameka & "Hytop Chiko CCD. CD". Chiko too was doing wonderfully in her heel, retrieve over jump, recall with drop, change of position, dumbell retrieve, on the send to box the scents in the ring got the better of her and she too had the call of nature.

Thank you to Tanje, Ben and Remy for coming down to cheer us all on.

All in all it was a wondefrul day and as a long time member of the club i was so proud to see our members out there giving it a go!

A hughe congratulations to all our members who stepped out of their comfort zones and enjoyed the day.

Training is still going ahead tomorrow morning despite all the rain. If we arrive and find the grounds unsafe, we’ll post an update on this platform at 8:30am to let everyone know.
