🐭 Mouse numbers are on the rise across key cropping zones in Australia, with CSIRO reporting higher-than-usual activity in parts of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.

Farmers are being urged to stay alert and be ready to bait at sowing time, as a population boom could impact autumn planting if conditions stay favourable.

When rats or mice come calling, there’s never just one.
Goodnature Rat & Mouse Traps make control simple — automatic, non-toxic and designed for a quick, humane kill.

Stay ahead of the problem this season.

At Scotia Wildlife Sanctuary, a 47km predator-proof fence stands between survival and extinction for some of Australia’s rarest animals.

“A powered fence is the most critical part of our entire mission,” says Garth.

Solar-powered energizers and smart monitors now keep this fence running 24/7 — detecting faults, sending instant alerts, and protecting species like the Bilby, Numbat, and Bridled Nailtail Wallaby from predators.

Every volt counts when you’re holding the line for Australia’s wildlife. 🌿⚡️

Across 65,000 hectares of red sand and mallee, technology is giving rangers at Scotia Wildlife Sanctuary eyes on the ground — even from hundreds of kilometres away.

Smart energizers, Wi-Fi fence monitors, and satellite water trackers alert the team to issues in real time, helping protect endangered species like the Bilby and Numbat.

“Tech gives us visibility we wouldn’t otherwise have,” says Garth. “It helps us respond faster and make better decisions.”

Across Australia, progressive cattle producers are turning to Gallagher’s StrongBó Auto Weigher to save time, reduce labour, and make smarter, data-driven decisions.

For NSW farmers like Brendon Gibbins and Claridge AG, this portable, solar-powered system is transforming livestock management—letting cattle weigh themselves right in the paddock. No more mustering, no more stress. With live weight data sent straight to their phones, they’re fine-tuning feed, spotting issues early, and improving performance across the herd. “It’s saved us time, boosted confidence, and made managing cattle so much easier,” says Brendon. 🐄📱

Get the most from your electric fence ⚡️

A good earthing system is key to a reliable fence. The better your earthing, the better your fence works. If you’re unsure, add more earth stakes. High-powered energizers and dry or rocky soil need more stakes than low-powered systems or damp ground.

Read more tips and tricks here:

The Earthing System The earthing system refers to the galvanized metal stakes that are placed in the earth near the energizer. The metal stakes in the ground are part of the circuit that is completed when the animal touches the wire. The completion of the circuit is what allows the animal to get a ...
