I’m a bit excited and wanted to share! A person reached out saying their doggo wouldn’t eat anything but chicken and they were at their wits end! I made up a batch of chicken and veg with some brown rice and took it there tonight and I just got a text to say she has eaten all her dinner! So good that she is going to bed full of good food but also excited other dogs enjoy Sky-la, my baby’s, favourite meal!
I’ll be doing a round in the next week if people are interested in samples.
Please note!!!!! I am NOT a nutritionist or have any training in a diet for dogs. I am offering what I feed my doggo along with other assortment of foods so please it is up to you to add to this food if u feel u want extra nutrients! Everything I add is exactly as I say it, it’s quality meat, vegetables and usually a brown rice.
That’s is what the food I cook is and that is what KISS stands for…..Keeping It SimpleS…… with a capital S at the end because my brain couldn’t accept one S for KIS!! lol 😂
I was cooking last week for Sky and thinking how good it feels to know what’s in her food and to know it doesn’t have fillers or bad quality meat, I like being able to look at her food and know exactly what she is eating. Then I was thinking it’s pretty reasonable price wise and if I made more it would probably get cheaper the more I made. Then I thought how good if I could offer to others for a really good price also, it gives me something to do, I love cooking I worked in a restaurant for years in Echuca, so I’m doing what I love and if I can cover the cost of sky’s food for the week and make a little bit for my time but offer people a service that isn’t taking advantage of people who will pay anything for their doggos! What a good feeling to know other doggos are going to bed with full tummy’s of my food!!!
So good! So that is how the idea of a community type homemade dog food came about!!! Then the support and obviously need for it came and now I’m excited! Phew! If u stuck with me thru that congrats!!! 🥳
Also I have been doing a lot of reading and found this interesting. Again I’m not saying these are the serving size for ur dog of my meals only. That is totally up to you as the owner and carer of ur fluffy bubba! I feed my dog the food I am cooking with a small handful of a better quality kibble, she also has raw marrow bones, bone broth I make (some animals stomachs don’t agree with bone broth so again, this is a personal choice I make it’s not advice) she has carrots and pieces of apple and berries and raw chicken and meat as I am preparing my dinner she usually gets nearly probably 1/4 of it 😂 as I’m cutting it up cause she sits there looking pretty and starving every-time….haha! There are days she will jus have the food I cook and kibble. If ur doggo is deficient or diabetes or any kind of health issues then u need to supplement where appropriate and def listen to your vet! Sky has been to the vets recently to become registered for assistance dog and they said her coat is so healthy and her teeth look great, that’s all I can say She is very very healthy and happy her poops are formed and easy to pick up but not dry ewwww sorry……. As u can probably tell I have had advice to make it very clear I am offering high quality chicken, beef, vegetables and usually some brown rice…….. for your doggo…….. it’s that simple. I hope you can understand that unfortunately some people make it difficult to do things!!!
