59 reactions and 4 shares on our last post about a tiny rescue pug needing urgent donations for his vet bill tomorrow…
Earlier today we posted about the most urgent bill we have that needs to be raised by tomorrow morning.
That bill is for the vet visit we have scheduled at 10:30am.
What it covers is as follows:
Consult for 4 puppies
❤️🩹 Partridge Pie - 3rd puppy vax, $80 skin cream, and her 2nd cytopoint injection (for her skin).
❤️🩹 Pillsbury Puff - 2nd puppy vax & health check
❤️🩹 Potjie - 1st puppy vax, microchip & 1st health check
❤️🩹 Pepsi Cola - 2nd puppy vax, health check and eye examination + phone consult with Animal Eye Care + medication and specialist referral for his eye.
Our goal was to *try* and raise $1000 today.
We have raised $170 via GFM & have had one Christmas appeal donation come in the over night of $40 via bank transfer (which I’ll add to our $170, making it $230).
I personally do not have anymore funds that I can put into this rescue. I’ve spent all that I have for many years and it’s left me with nothing for general life stuff. I can’t afford to go to the dentist for myself, I can’t afford a lot of things, sometimes I skip a food shop for myself and happily live off cups of noodles. It’s fine, I’m lucky to have what I have.
But there are only so many times where I can put off paying bills to fund the current animals in care. Our paddock sanctuary animals haven’t had their vet care in almost 1 year (they are ok, I’m keeping them as healthy as I can with good quality food).
I REALLY need some help. Each year I see nonrescue accounts, dog food companies etc do Christmas appeals where they raise upwards of $100k to donate to rescues of their choosing (the ones that support their brands). And each year I think to myself, those donations would be better suited to have been donated directly to those rescues, cutting out the middle man who does this as a way to angle charitable publicity & further their brands (also a great tax write off).
This is our first big Christmas appeal I ever launched for LoP Rescue. And yet we are sitting at 2% raised with 23 days left until Christmas. This appeal is truly make or break.
Unfortunately, I fear it’s going to be break. And if that’s the case, LoP will need to retire.
I wasn’t able to include any ways to donate on this same post on Instagram. But tbh, our engagement is so low here on Facebook and over there on Instagram, I’m not sure it matters.
Thank you to those of you who have donated over the many years, the ones who can’t and still continue to support us in other ways.
I’m not saying goodbye just yet, I have a good 14 or so dogs to adopt out. Once I do, I think my team and I need to have a good think about where LoP goes from here. We just cannot continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome without the finances to do so.
If you wanted to donate, please see the previous post or any other of the posts over the last few weeks, almost all have our details for donations.
