✨🐾 Friday the 13th: Meet Mr. Darcy! 🐾✨
It’s Friday the 13th, and who better to bring in than the most purrfect black cat, Mr. Darcy! 😻🖤 Owned by our very own Dr. Jess, Mr. Darcy came in for an echo to monitor his heart condition, cardiomyopathy. With expert care from visiting specialist Dr. Clint from Insight, we're making sure this handsome fella’s heart stays strong and healthy. 💖
No bad luck here—just a lot of love and careful monitoring from Dr. Jess to keep Mr. Darcy feeling purrfect! 🐾💚

🐾 Say hello to Theodore "Teddy" Puglington! 🐶✨

This adorable Jack Russell x Pug pup came in for his 10-week vaccination and was as brave as he is cute (and trust us… he’s very cute 😍).

Thanks to our early finish 10-week puppy vaccination, Teddy is now all set to start safely exploring the big wide world! Getting your pup fully vaccinated early means more time for playdates, park adventures, and important socializing while their curiosity is at its peak!

But here and in the theatres of war across the western front, Middle East, Gallipoli and elsewhere, they were not alone - far from it.
The Australians who fought, suffered and died here were volunteers.
The animals that served and supported them were not.
Men could speak of what they endured.
Their animals could not.
Nerve shattering, pounding artillery, relentless gunfire, snipers, disease, mud, water and brutal weather, both man and animal endured.
In all this they were bound in trust and the comfort one gave to the other.

Lest we forget.

🐰💙 Meet our best little Easter patient, Winnie! 💙🐰
Looking absolutely adorable in her blue bunny ears, Cavoodle Winnie stole all our hearts this Easter – and she even snuck in a sweet cuddle with Dr. Shuen! 💕

This brave girl came in for her desexing procedure and was such a champ. You might remember her from her baby teeth days – well, she’s all grown up now with a full set of pearly whites! 🦷✨ Nurse Karly was right by her side throughout, keeping a close eye on her anaesthetic – temperature checks, breathalert, CO₂ monitoring, and Doppler for blood pressure – to make sure this sweet girl stayed safe and sound. 🩺🐶

Winnie was showered with love and snuggles from our whole nursing team. We’re so proud of how brave she was – what a superstar! 🌟

Happy to all the strong, compassionate, and dedicated women - especially those who make a difference in veterinary medicine every day.

Once a male-dominated profession, veterinary medicine is now powered by incredible women who heal, lead, and inspire. At Burke Road Vet, we are proud to work alongside women who are not only skilled veterinarians, nurses, and receptionists but also mentors, problem solvers, and caregivers—both in the clinic and beyond.

Their hands heal. Their minds innovate. Their hearts comfort. And together, they lift each other up.

Today, we celebrate the women who paved the way, those leading today, and the future generations who will continue to transform this field. Because when women support women, we all rise.
