🚨 URGENT — EXPERIENCED FOSTER CARER NEEDED 🚨

💜 Meet Piper 💜
Piper is an 18-month-old Staffy who has already experienced far more than any young dog should.
In her short life, Piper has had six different homes and four litters of puppies. She has been moved from home to home in NSW, never having the opportunity to experience the stability, security and consistency every dog deserves.
And this is where we need to step in. 💔
Piper is a sweet and loving girl, but her unstable past has left her unsure of people and the world around her. She doesn’t automatically trust, and she can be reactive when she feels uncertain or overwhelmed.
This isn’t a “bad dog”.
This is a dog who needs someone willing to understand her behaviour rather than judge it. ❤️
🏡 WHAT PIPER NEEDS
We are urgently looking for an experienced female foster carer who:
🐾 Has no other dogs
🐾 Has no children in the home
🐾 Has a good understanding of dog behaviour and body language
🐾 Is patient and willing to give Piper time to decompress and adjust
🐾 Understands that trust cannot be rushed
🐾 Is loving, calm and compassionate
🐾 Is also confident and comfortable around dogs who lack confidence
🐾 Can provide consistency, routine and a safe environment
Piper does not need someone expecting her to settle in immediately and behave perfectly.
She needs someone who will say:
“It’s okay, Piper. You don’t have to trust me today. I’ll give you the time you need.” ❤️
💜 OUR EXPERIENCES WITH PIPER
FurKids has met Piper twice, and both interactions have been extremely positive.
Her initial response can be a bark — essentially, “Who are you?” — but there has been no aggression towards us.
Her body language tells us something much more important:
“I don’t know you yet. If you move slowly and give me the opportunity to work you out, I’m okay.”
Our first interaction was in a pen.
Today, we progressed to working with Piper on lead and in a harness, and she allowed us to give her treats and even enjoyed belly rubs. 🥹💜
These may seem like small things, but for a dog who has been passed from home to home and has struggled to trust, they are really positive signs.
Piper doesn’t need another temporary home.
She needs someone who can help show her what safety, stability and unconditional love actually feel like.
