Cheney's opened in 1949 on Pultney Street, Dandenong before moving to their permanent location on Langhorne Street. This 1968 Graham Southam image shows a brand-new HK series panel van on display in their showroom.

We're planting the future in Keysborough 🌿

This week marks an exciting milestone at the new community hub in Keysborough, with the delivery of the first 12,000 plants – including trees, shrubs and smaller native species that will soon transform the site into a vibrant, welcoming green space.

🌳 Around 90 new trees will be planted across the site, beautifully complementing the existing mature River Red Gums.

🌱 With the opening just months away, our team will be working hard to bring this landscape to life.

Avoid putting your recycling in plastic or paper bags. Even if the items are all recyclable, bagged recycling can’t be sorted and will go to waste.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Refugee Week (15-21 June).

This year's theme is 'Finding Freedom: Diversity in Community'. This theme encourages us to think about what it means to be free, and to recognise the positive contributions refugees make to our community.

There are a number of Refugee Week events happening in Greater Dandenong, including a celebration at Springvale City Hall tomorrow, Sunday 15 June from 10am.

The Country Women's Association of Victoria is now 97 years old, formed on 12 March 1928.

Wildlife is returning to Greater Dandenong! 🌿

For the first time ever, Krefft’s Gliders (formerly known as sugar gliders) have been recorded in our city.

The discovery was made by students from EcoSkills TAFE on a recent field trip to monitor nesting boxes that had been installed in Brady Road Reserve, Dandenong North.

Spotting these gliders is a huge win for local conservation and is a sign that our long-term efforts to restore habitats are working.

Congratulations to Aaya from Sirius College for being elected by our Children's Advisory Group as Junior Mayor for 2025. 🎉

Aaya has a vision for a more active city, one where young people spend less time on devices and more time outdoors, playing sports and engaging in physical activity.
