❤️🩹 Sensitive medical case ❤️🩹
Lulu and Baby Doll were in foster care with one of our amazing carers when they started to become unwell, showing signs of diarrhoea and lethargy. Their carer brought them straight to the clinic for a health check, and upon arrival, they were admitted with a suspected toxoplasmosis infection.
Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease that can spread to humans and potentially cause seizures and, if pregnant, birth defects.
“Toxo” can cause a range of symptoms in cats including lethargy, loss of appetite, and in severe cases coma. Lulu and Baby Doll were deteriorating rapidly and needed a nurse to hold their heads up for treatment. Thankfully, they were surrounded by our amazing team, but they needed to be strong to pull through.
Toxoplasmosis can spread to kittens through their mother during pregnancy or through exposure to infected f***s.
I’m pleased to say that they have responded well to treatment, and when they’re old enough they’ll be looking for their forever family through
A big shoutout to all of our dog, cat, guinea pig, and bunny foster carers! 🐕🐈🐇
