Mia 🐾 comment below what breed you think she is! (Hint - there’s a few)

Mia has moved to Melbourne from country NSW and is adjusting to busy city life. At the young age of 7, she’s still got bounds of energy.

With the correct place to put that energy we were able to have a lovely walk with Mia and Buckley as well as walking past a few dogs without any reactions!

Can’t wait to see the improvement with this girl 😍

Meet Miss 🐾 Goldie 🐾

I can’t tell you how proud I am of her mum. Goldie is just about to turn 1 and in November when I first met her she was screaming the house down in her crate, her pawrents were having to whisper not to disturb her and she was all up in guests grills, jumping, biting and barking. On lead she would coat hanger her self just to run around in circles as she was bounding with energy and didn’t know what to do with it. (typical Cocker)

Now, it’s night and day difference. She is walking perfectly on lead, she is listening to her mum, she sat politely next to me, she’s sleeping soundly in her crate during the day and night, her pawrents can be as loud as they want and she’s calm.

This is hard work and dedication but my god is it worth it

Oh Freddy 😂 while he looks miserable in the second photo I can say his owners said “he’s never done that” (taken himself into his crate) - do you know why he did? I found what motivated him (prime 100) and asked him to go into his crate and gave him a treat. He then continued to go in and out trying to impress me.

Isn’t this just such a beautiful picture 😍 Oliver and his beautiful owner Michelle have impressed me so much. With regular sessions between April - Sept this year they have come leaps and bounds.

We did some loose lead walking around some of the most difficult distractions, I mean it! Kids bouncing footballs, kites, birds, wind, people and dogs in every direction you name it, it was there.

They absolutely smashed it and I can see how much time and effort they’ve put in. Proud of them 🤩

Little Molly 🐾

She’s a bundle of energy and gives love bites to arms and toes 😂

We worked on giving her an outlet, with clear start and stop cues, and started to slow her down and teach her not to chase.

She did great!

Well that’s a wrap for my second Michael Ellis Seminar over two months, two states and 48 hours of listening to this man speak. has this incredible way of making insanely complex topics sound easy as pie. He’s fair on dogs, he shows so much love for them and provides them with a black and white picture as often as possible. His dogs have no idea how lucky they are to have him 😂

If Michael can say 40 years into his career that he’s still learning it really goes to show that we should all be students for life. There’s always a lesson to be learnt somewhere.

My cup feels very full, surrounded by like minded dog trainers that just want the best for all the dogs out there.

To my clients, well now my brain is full of information and different ways we can troubleshoot and make life better between you and your dog.

Here’s to all learning as much as we can 🐾

Meet Cashew 🐾

He’s a Rough Collie x German Shepherd and he isq a big boy at 40kgs!

He absolutely won my heart though, such an absolute sweetheart.

I was shocked to hear it’s his 4th home. But he’s in the right place now 💜

We found an outlet to put all his energy, and I can’t wait to make life easier on his new family.

Pinching myself this happened today. Learning something brand new in front of 100 dog professionals with the worlds best dog trainer is something I am feeling very grateful for.

So many of my clients get a little flustered organising their hands and their feet and what markers to use and how to use the leash, it’s alot all at once. Today I put myself in your shoes.

Never stop being a student. Put yourself in uncomfortable positions. Ask for help. Get someone to watch what you’re doing and point out where you can improve.

Thank you for an unparalleled session, it was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.

Thanks for organising and for having us as your facility.

Here’s to two more days of learning this weekend

Pip & Wilson.

Pip has been a little snappy with other dogs. We think the root cause is down to fear, so how can we build her up? We spoke about giving her an outlet, managing her situation, advocating for her space, using a leash to communicate what she needs and doing some controlled desensitisation in the community.

Can’t wait to see what happens with this girl 🥰

The gorgeous Frankie

He’s been pulling his owner left right and (not) centre on walks.

They absolutely nailed it!

The trick to loose lead walking isn’t to put a no pull harness on, or to whack on a halti, it’s to train your dog how to walk.

Sounds easy, and it can be taught quite easily when you know what to do!

Meet Sophie & Gertie 🐾

Two girls with a lot of s***k!

They pull like a steam train out on walks, but when you try to leave Gertie home and work with Sophie, she will eat walls to get to her.

So for now we worked on walking both dogs, was it hard? Yes. Was their mum awesome? Yes.

It was incredible to see how quickly they changed in just a few hours. Video to come in the coming weeks of their improvement.

You all know me to have experience with Cocker Spaniels but want to know my dirty little secret?

I LOVE German Shepherds. Growing up with my best pal ‘Rocky’ he taught me so much of what I know today. ‘How to speak dog’ and read their body language.

When I couldn’t commit to a dog of my own, I went around walking any Shepherds I could find. For free!

One was an ex police dog, one was a huge working line dog, a Dutch shepherd, a few cute puppies and some throwbacks of me with Rocky.

They’ll always be one of my favourite breeds.

Just a good boy and girl living their best life. Teaching a puppy to leave an adult dog alone at times can be hard, but it’s important to give them both space, time to switch off and attention from humans separately as well as together.

The little gold boy is Cheddar, our board and train here for 10 days, and the black girl is Buckley, my 3 year old, both Cocker Spaniels from the same breeder in Melbourne.

Meet Maple 🍁

She’s one excitable pup at home and on walks so we practiced slowing her down. Introducing her to leash pressure and place training to teach her to switch off.

She absolutely loved to learn and her owners did incredibly well too!

Meet little Cheddar. He’ll be with us at Cloud Nine Canine for 11 days. Lots of content will be coming in on how to do EVERYTHING with a young puppy. At 14 weeks old there will be much to see and do.
