🌙 Meet Moon - Grace, Strength, and a Heart Full of Light 🌙

Why do we love long-term foster cats like Moon? Because they’ve already proven their strength, patience, and capacity to love - they just need someone to finally see the magic that’s been there all along. 💫

Moon has been in care for over a year, and in that time she has captured every heart she’s met. Despite being vision-impaired, she moves through life with confidence and quiet grace. She still chases flies, watches birds, and even hops onto new surfaces in unfamiliar spaces - a true little explorer with a big, brave spirit.

Once a devoted mumma cat who raised her kittens on the streets, Moon’s nurturing nature still shines through. She has a calming presence and a gift for connecting with other cats - even the grumpy ones - offering quiet companionship and gentle affection.

Though she may need a few days to get used to new people, once she feels safe, she’s pure love. Moon enjoys gentle pats, rolls over for belly rubs, and melts into affection, showing the sweetest gratitude in return.

She would thrive in a quiet, loving home, where her gentle soul can finally rest and be cherished. Her soothing presence brings warmth and calm - the kind of love that fills a home, not just a space.

🐾 Meet Rocky - the Clever Cat with a Heart of Gold 🧡

Rocky is a handsome, playful boy who has come such a long way since arriving in care. Once unsure of the world, he’s now learned that humans, toys, treats - and life itself - can be pretty wonderful. With patience, kindness, and a full belly, Rocky has blossomed into a bright, curious, and deeply loving companion.

Rocky loves playtime and is an incredibly smart little guy. He’s already figured out how to open bookshelf doors and Ikea drawers… so the laundry door is probably next. Consider that your friendly warning. 😉

He will thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. Give him time and gentleness, and he’ll give you trust, affection, and quiet companionship that warms the whole home.

Rocky also enjoys feline company and would happily live with another friendly cat.

If you’re looking for a sweet, intelligent boy with a tender heart - and a slightly mischievous streak - Rocky may be your perfect match.

💛 Medical Notes - Please Read
Rocky has previously had FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).
• He completed full treatment on 31 October, with excellent progress.
• He is now in a 3-month observation period, ending 23 January 2026.
• In the unlikely event of a relapse during this period, his health warranty covers him through to the end of that observation stage.
• After this, he is considered officially cured.
❗ FIP is NOT infectious to humans or other cats - it results from a mutation of feline coronavirus and cannot be transmitted between pets.

Rocky is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home.

UPDATE 7.45pm , Friday 7th Nov.

3.35pm Friday 7th Nov
🆘️🆘️🆘️ URGENT NEED FOR *5 days ONLY* FOSTER CARER for Ms. Debbie the Labrador – Severely OBESE at 57kg, 5yo female dog

IMPORTANT TO NOTE ⚠️ we have a wonderful foster for Debbie from the 14th Nov . So we need a very short temporary , 5-6 days foster home for her from Monday to Friday the 14th Nov.
So she can be free of the pound asap🥲
---
About Debbie ❤️
Debbie is a beautiful, big-hearted lady who recently came into the pound after being surrendered by her owner. She arrived carrying more weight than is healthy for her.

With the right person cheering her on, Debbie is absolutely going to shine.

She has been meeting other dogs on-lead in calm, controlled environments, and has done well. She has not had off-lead dog time yet as we are prioritising her safety while she is carrying a lot of excess weight. We do not want her injuring herself or losing confidence.

Debbie is endlessly affectionate, goofy in the best way, and loves being involved in whatever you’re doing. She needs someone committed to her weight-loss journey, structure around mealtimes, and gentle, consistent walks.

In return, she will give you loyalty, laughter, soft cuddles, and that special kind of gratitude rescue dogs are famous for.

---

Health & Care Notes:
It is not safe to desex her at the moment due to her obesity. She must wait until she reaches a healthy weight. While in foster care, she must be kept safe and secure away from any entire male dogs.

Debbie will need to remain in care until at least January 2026 to allow her to lose the excess weight safely which means she is not going to he ready for adoption anytime soon.🙏

---

⭐️ There is zero cost to foster Debbie through Tails of The Forgotten Paws AU. ⭐️

🐭 Meet Stevie - The Mighty Mouser Extraordinaire! 🐭

Looking for a pest control officer who works for food and lodging? Meet Stevie, your new four-legged, mouse-chasing, pest-busting legend!

Stevie isn’t your typical lap cat - he’s far too busy running the “Rodent Removal Department” with unmatched dedication. Once a street-smart survivor, Stevie has turned his skills into a professional calling: keeping barns, sheds, and warehouses blissfully mouse-free.

All Stevie asks in return is a dry, warm place to sleep, a bowl of food (no performance bonus required), and a worm tablet every six months - crushed into dinner, of course.

He’s independent, low-maintenance, and doesn’t need constant human attention - in fact, he prefers to keep his admirers at a polite distance. Stevie is happy to coexist with other cats and will even take on an apprentice if you’ve got another barn buddy in need of a job.

If you’ve got a rural or semi-rural property and a mouse problem, Stevie’s your man. He’s desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to clock in.

Dog Lovers - with warmer weather around the corner ....PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏 pay attention to the below 👇👇👇

🌊🐾 Beach days with your dog can be magical—but they come with hidden dangers. Here's how to keep your pup safe by the shore!

Heading to the beach with your furry friend?
While it’s a fantastic way to bond and enjoy the outdoors, there are several hazards that can turn fun into an emergency. Here’s what to watch out for—and how to stay safe:

⚠️ Common Beach Hazards for Dogs & Safety Tips

- Salt Toxicity: Drinking seawater can cause vomiting, diarrhea, confusion, and even seizures.
👉 Tip: Always bring fresh water and a portable bowl. Encourage frequent drinking and rinse off salt from their coat.

-Hot Sand: Sand can burn paw pads, especially on sunny days.
👉 Tip: Test the sand with your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog. Use booties or visit during cooler hours.

- Heatstroke: Dogs overheat quickly, especially brachycephalic breeds like pugs and bulldogs.
👉 Tip: Provide shade, take breaks, and avoid midday heat. Watch for signs like excessive panting or lethargy.

- Sand Ingestion: Dogs may swallow sand while digging or playing, leading to intestinal blockages.
👉 Tip: Supervise play, rinse toys, and discourage digging near food or treats.

- Secondary Drowning: Inhaling water during swimming can cause delayed respiratory distress.
👉 Tip: Rinse your dog after swimming and monitor for coughing or fatigue hours later.

- Jellyfish & Sea Creatures: Washed-up jellyfish can sting or be toxic.
👉 Tip: Keep your dog on a lead near the shoreline and avoid areas with visible sea life.

- Strong Currents: Not all dogs are strong swimmers. Waves and rips can be dangerous.
👉 Tip: Use a dog life vest and keep them in shallow water.

- Fishing Hooks & Debris: Hidden hooks or sharp objects can injure paws or be swallowed.
👉 Tip: Avoid fishing areas and scan the sand before settling in.

🐶💧 Your dog’s safety starts with awareness and preparation. Pack smart, stay alert, and enjoy the beach responsibly.

🌸ADOPTION STORY of Māia🌸
From heartbreak to hope — this is Maya’s journey 💕Maya’s life didn’t start easy. Adopted as a pup while still undesexed, she was later abandoned at just 8 months old when her family decided they didn’t want her anymore. The original rescue group refused to take her back… and so, Maya ended up in a kill pound.

Petrified, confused, and suspected pregnant, she was marked urgent rescue only. Days turned into weeks. Fear turned into quiet despair. Dogs like her often don’t make it out alive. 💔

But then — we saw her. That one desperate pound email. And we just knew we had to get her. Because nothing breaks our hearts more than a terrified dog left behind, drowning in fear, waiting for a chance that may never come.

Her name, Māia, means brave, courageous, and confident in Māori — and she has truly lived up to it. When Maya first arrived, she had zero life skills. It was clear she’d never been trained, socialised, or even given the chance to explore the world.
Step by step, with patience and love, she learned — how to walk on a lead, how to play, how to trust. She spent the next 8 months in care with her foster family, alongside her big Rottweiler and Mastiff brothers (and foster buddies, a Staffy and a poodle cross!), learning how to be a dog.

She grew in confidence, graduated from training with Dynamic Canine & Pro Dog Training with flying colours 🎓, and blossomed into a cheeky, happy, and loving young girl.

Today, we are so thrilled to share that Maya has found her forever family! 🥰
A family who has always adopted rescue dogs, who adores the Staffy breed, and who, like Maya, came from New Zealand to Melbourne 🇳🇿➡️🇦🇺 — bringing their dog with them because family is forever.

Now, Maya has a human big brother who she absolutely adores (and gets up to plenty of mischief with 😄). Together with the amazing support of the Pro Dog Training family, they’re helping Maya continue her journey of learning, love, and confidence.
Every dog has a home — and this is why we do what we do. Because behind every great dog… is a group of great humans who wholeheartedly love helping our canine friends 🧡 get the best life

❤️We are so proud of you, sweet Māia.

🐶⭐❤️ ADOPTED ❤️⭐🐶

💛 WILLOW – Looking for Her Forever Home

✨ 10-week-old Toy Poodle Mix Puppy ✨

Say hello to Willow, an adorable, curious, and affectionate little pup who is ready to start the next chapter of her life.

Willow is a beautiful little girl from a litter of six. Her mum, Sara, a Blue Merle Parti Toy Poodle, was rescued from a puppy farm and arrived into care already pregnant — something we didn’t know at the time. A few weeks later, six perfect pups entered the world.

Most of their siblings have pending adoptions, and it’s time for Willow find her forever home.

🐾 Raised With Love & Experience

These pups have grown up in a busy, social foster home where they’ve been surrounded by:
• Georgie, their staghound foster sister, who they adore chasing around the garden
• Three adult foster dogs, including Aunty Cleo the toy poodle
• A resident cat, who they have grown up around without issue
• And visitors, so they are wonderfully social pups.

Being raised with such a mix of animals and people has made them confident, friendly, and wonderfully social pups.

Willow is wonderful with other dogs and well-socialised with cats.

🌟 Personality

Willow is playful, sweet-natured, and always eager to explore. She loves following her foster carer around the house and loves curling up under the dining chairs in her little bed, quietly watching what’s happening in the kitchen.

Her favourite games with her sibblings include:
• Tug rope toys
• Fluffy enrichment toys
• Squeaky toys (their absolute favourite!)

🌟 Training

Toilet training is progressing really well — they head straight outside each morning and get regular opportunities every 2–3 hours.
Like all puppies, they will need ongoing toilet training, consistency, and general puppy training in their new homes. They thrive with gentle guidance and positive reinforcement.

🌟 Diet & Health

They are currently thriving on Royal Canin Puppy (dry and wet) and enjoy Lyka, Prime100, and puppy mince.
They also love their fruits and veggies — carrot, cucumber, apple, and berries. They’re much more adventurous eaters than mum and aunty!

✅ First C3 vaccination completed
✅ Due for her full C5 next
✅ Wormed every 2 weeks since birth
✅ Healthy, social, and full of personality
✅ She has her first grooming experience nail clip

🌟 Ideal Home

Willow would suit families who can offer time, structure, and continued training to help her grow into a well-mannered adult. A home with another friendly dog would be a bonus, but not essential. What matters most is patience, love, and commitment to puppyhood.
