Zoey, a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, was brought to our emergency team after eating a pair of children's pajama shorts causing a gastric obstruction. Initially, we induced vomiting to see if she could bring up the foreign material, but due to the size and nature of the fabric, vomiting was unsuccessful.
After careful assessment, our team proceeded with an exploratory laparotomy to surgically remove the obstruction. The procedure was successfully performed by our emergency veterinarian, and Zoey recovered exceptionally well. She was closely monitored following surgery and was soon reunited with her family, happy and healthy! Swipe to see the object in question :)
