This year we are donating all proceeds to the amazing Ginger Ninja Rescue (), who have been integral to allowing us to give many cats a second chance at life over the last year.

Ginger Ninja are a nonprofit organisation dedicated to rehabilitating, fostering and rehoming the cats of South Australia.

Tickets are $2 each and you can choose to go into the draw for a small dog, large dog or cat hamper backed to the brim with amazing goodies!

🐾💚 Happy Vet Nurse Day 2025! 💚🐾

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on the incredible veterinary nurses who are the heart and soul of our practice.

From calming nervous pets, monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, running lab tests, educating owners, to being there for every cuddle and emergency — our vet nurses do it all.

They are compassionate carers, skilled professionals, and tireless advocates for animal welfare. Truth is, we simply couldn’t do what we do without them.

Spring has sprung and as this years foals hit the ground, it’s time for last years colts to be gelded!

Dr Kate attended AJ this week for his gelding and to repair a small umbilical hernia.

At MVC we offer gelding packages, which include surgery, anaesthesia, vaccination and medication.

Nurse Caz is fast becoming a top notch bovine midwife and neonatologist!

Dr Maddy delivered this handsome little guy by caesarean today. While Dr Maddy looked after mum, Caz made sure baby got a good start to life.

Gorgeous Bonny spent the day with us today to have some baby teeth removed. These teeth have developed in the wrong position. With monitoring and therapy Bonny should grow up to have a Hollywood smile!

Bonny has base narrow canines, a condition that if not managed early can lead to a very painful mouth and abnormal function of the jaw. These can lead to behaviour changes due to chronic pain and in severe cases dogs can stop eating completely.

Every pet deserves a healthy pain free mouth. This is one of the reasons inspection of the teeth is performed at every consult.

At MVC, we’re proud to support the next generation of vets by giving them hands-on experience in the real world of mixed practice.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed students from across Australia and even overseas — and this week, we had the pleasure of hosting our 100th veterinary student, Maddi!

From cow caesareans to dog speys, Maddi got a true taste of the fast-paced, varied life that rural mixed practice offers — including the thrill (and challenge!) of after-hours emergencies.

We’re passionate about showing students just how rewarding a rural veterinary career can be. So if you see a student with us on the road or at the clinic, don’t hesitate to say hello and share what makes country life so special! 🐄🐶🌾
