AVBS team continues…...
Vicki Castle, AVBS Business manager, HR consultant, Quality assurance, Strategist.
Affectionately known as the ‘Sheriff’, keeping AVBS running smoothly, and ensuring quality control and regulation adherence.
Some of our dogs are extremely fearful and anxious and are known to react out of fear. Strict protocols ensure team members, patients, owners, and visitors are safe and welcomed in a homely environment.
In close to 39 working years, this is by far the most rewarding work and the most amazing team I have had the pleasure to work with. I love every one of our dog and cat patients, they always make me smile.....and know I have treats.
I feel I am making a difference to their wellbeing and consistently see first-hand the amazing progress they make with AVBS guidance and expertise and exceptional owner management.
I have been told I communicate with animals intuitively. I like to think this is true. Animal wellbeing is my passion and I see myself as their voice.
Before I started working at AVBS, I was an AVBS client and still am. I see the professionalism, empathy, dedication, and expertise our team gives to our patients and owners. I love seeing the dogs trust grow each time they attend a consult, even baby steps are a great achievement.
AVBS have been hosting University vet students for the last 8 years. We recognise the importance of educating veterinarians in complex behaviour signs and management.
I have so many wonderful memories of our patients and will miss them all. I miss them already. To the team, you are all amazing, an incredibly close-knit family. We are only a small team who successfully manage dog and cat behaviour and educate veterinary professionals and organisations across Australia. Our services will be greatly missed.
Best wishes to you all and special pats and hugs for our much- loved patients x

We are proud to announce another amazing AVBS team member many of you may not know.....
Tobias Threadgold, BSc (Veterinary Bioscience), AVBS Communication and Marketing Officer.
Tobi is a veterinary student in his final year of study at Adelaide University with aspirations to work in a rural GP clinic. Tobi completed a vet student placement with AVBS and we were all quick to pick up that Tobi had serious IT skills as well as a keen interest in animal behaviour.
Tobi filled a gap in our limited knowledge of IT and offered valuable assistance, so much so that AVBS extended an invitation to become a member of our elite "Friends of AVBS Reference group".
Tobi has since become a much respected and dynamic AVBS team member who works behind the scenes on communication and marketing, and tasks enabling our vets to spend more time with and for our precious patients.
Throughout his time at uni, Tobi has worked all kinds of weekend jobs from boar handler and lamb marker to retail worker to energy drink brand ambassador and plenty in between before arriving at his position at AVBS. After all of this, Tobi is excited to finally take on his dream job as a veterinarian at the end of this year.
Great to have you with us Tobi, hope all goes well in GP land x

AVBS talented team members continue...
Dr Lizzie Davis BSc BVMS, AVBS behaviour consultant and educator.
Lizzie is a much-loved team member and highly sought-after behaviour consultant and GP vet.
Lizzie makes us smile every time she is in the clinic and we often hear laughter from the consult room.
Dr Lizzie sets a high standard at AVBS who is highly experienced and knowledgeable in general veterinary and veterinary behaviour medicine.
Lizzie is a popular and engaging AVBS presenter, competently educating GP vets, vet staff and vet clinics on dog and cat behaviour, management and protocols.
Dr Lizzie also has serious talent. Lizzie has an amazing singing voice and performed at this year's Adelaide Fringe festival.
University vet students on placement at AVBS commented "when I am a qualified vet, I want to be like Lizzie" "When I am working as a vet I will be using the wonderful analogies Lizzie uses with her clients"
We often have the pleasure of Charlie Boy Lamb Chop (Charles) a silver miniature poodle visit the clinic with Dr Lizzie. Charles can often be found snuggled behind Lizzie during telemedicine consults. Dr Lizzie consults as a much sought after GP vet in Southern Adelaide
Another superstar team member of AVBS x
