The Refuge is a not-for-profit organisation, ever thankful to the wonderful Volunteers who dedicate time and energy daily, to assist us in ongoing the care of the animals and maintenance of our facilities. Last Thursday, MP John Barounis visited the Maryborough Animal Refuge to present us with a cheque. We were successful in a $19,500 grant application from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. This money enabled us to install crank-operated weather-proof screens for our new Cat Refuge building & the Boarding Cat outdoor exercise area. This will be of great benefit to the cats in the very hot weather, as well as rainy, windy or cold periods.
